Black screen during Blu-ray playback on PS3...

I watched Iron Man last night, no problems, great movie.

Then later on my brother wanted to watch it and about two minutes into the movie it just cut to a black screen. We exited out to the XMB and started it sgain. Same thing. This happened about five times in a row before we gave up. The movie had only been watched that one other time earlier in the night so the disc is brand new. I was also playing LBP for a couple hours before that with no problems.

Is my PS3 dying or what? I didn't hear any odd sounds or anything out of the ordinary. The movie just stops playing and goes to a black screen.

It might have to do with the BD-Live stuff. Do you have any other Blurays to try and see if it is a problem across all of them?

I popped in Rambo for a little while and that was fine but I don't know if that means anything. Before I watched Iron Man the first time it did prompt me for the BD-Live stuff and I said yes, so maybe it tried downloading something that second time? I'll have to look around and see how to turn it off. I haven't explored much of the media and Blu-ray options on the console.

Keep us up-to-date; A local user is having a similar issue, but with plain old DVDs. Screen cuts out to black as soon as the disc starts to play.
