So with all the great deals out there on flat panel TV's we have pretty much decided to get rid of our 36" tube and put a flat panel 50" in the family room.
And I need a little help. We have in our home four Samsung Tivo DirecTV units. I know that when taking the step to HD DirecTV that we will need to upgrade our service to HD, and that of course means a new DVR.
The problem is, we don't want to lose the 'Tivo' software - I've seen other "DVR's" that are HDTV, and I don't want to lose the Tivo software. I want the same look and feel as in the other rooms - and quite frankly I don't want to learn anything new.
So, is there a good Tivo HD Receiver that will work on DirecTV? Any models that you guys can recommend on eBay? Are there any detriments to doing this?
Thanks for the advice!
