I think for the price it's sounds good to me. Some people might think the less than state of the art driver is an issue. But to me I think people expect too much for what they pay these days. Spoiled by cheap cost.
People always complain about furniture like that. Say they don't make it like they used too, but what is different is people don't buy like they used to. Years ago people saved for years and bought an expensive piece of furniture that basically was hand built. Today people buy crappy furniture and expect it to be better.
Go to a real furniture place and see what a high end dinning table costs...$3,-5,000 with chairs. Most people probably paid like $300 for their table.
The long rant is you have to think if you want something that's going to last 15 years or you want to pay less and maybe buy another sooner. Even if you went through a sub every 3 years you'd could buy 2 for the price of a "mid level" unit" and possible 3-4 if you were buying high end.
Good sub, good sound, good price.
