LG BH200 $75 BD-Live compensation (rebate) info here - Page 5

it took me a couple of tries to get to the correct department. First few tries they sent me to a rebate department with automated voice thing. I tried back a couple more times and the clerk who took my call noticed i called before. She told me the department i was looking for was the "bd live" department. It took me to the old lady that seems to be taking everyone's rebate requests.

Well I've applied for 3 rebates.

The first one, I applied on Nov 17 for one and got confirmation on Nov 24. I got the rebate about 3 days later.

The second I applied for on Nov 29, and got a confirmation the same day. However its now Jan 13 and I still haven't got the rebate nor any no response for follow-up information on the delay.

I applied for the 3rd on Jan 11 and haven't heard anything back regarding this one either.

I submitted the receipt for each one and serial numbers. Still waiting, but not as patient anymore.

That is weird. I've so far gotten two, and the first one I didn't have a receipt for. I'd call again.
ah, so they do send you an confirmation/rejection email if you apply for the rebate via email? or do they call you?

Mine was all done via Email.

It is possible, that now that they may be receiving more requests for the rebate than anticipated, LG may have assigned more CSRs to this and they may be doing things a bit differently. One also has to wonder when LG may just stop issuing the rebate.

I've applied for 4 and received them all in a very timely manner. All 4 units were purchased at BB and all had receipts, which I supplied to LG. The first 2 units were purchased a couple of weeks apart in August/September, the last 2 Nov/Dec.

I emailed my request for the first 3 units and I received a confirmation phone call within 1 week with the check arriving a week after. On my last unit, I called it in and was asked to fax my receipt, which I did that same day. I did not get any further confirmation but that checked arrived 1 week after. Btw, with the exception of the first 2 units, I spoke to a different rep the next 2 times.

For those who have not heard or received a check after 2-3 weeks, I would definitely follow up again and inquire if they require any more info from you.

Is LG still checking emails for the rebates? I emailed one out on 12/30 and a second on the 9th with no response to either. I also tried to fax my info and receipt, but the number wasn't going through, so I hope I'm not screwed.

I emailed my info back on 12/26 and no response back for me either. I chatted online with a rep and they said someone would be calling me last week....that didn't happen either.

I think emailing them is overall an exercise in futility...bypass that medium and speak with them on the phone (Giz provided the number already). This is what I did and I didn't have to play any games of phone/email tag. Granted, requirements may be more stringent now (I didn't have to bother with faxing my receipt) but speaking to a real person is preferred in cases like this.

my mate in the US who bought my 2 BH200's for me has received one of my rebate checks - hopefully the other will show up soon.
I emailed them 2 weeks ago with no reply. I called them and they had no record of it, so I filed on the phone and faxed in my receipt. that was a few days ago, so hopefully will get the check soon.
DONT email as it no one apparently reads them.

I had a perfectly dreadful experience with them a couple of weeks ago for a rebate I first applied for in NOVEMBER.

Called, waited some time on hold, and then got a rep who knew about the program. He says the check was mailed on 11/24 (I sent the info in prior to that), and I told him I didn't get it. He transfers me to the "billing department" where the guy looks my info up again, tells me IT WAS NEVER SENT, but that -- and here's the kicker -- I have to go "back out to customer service" to reapply for it and he -- of course -- has no way of transferring me there. (SERIOUSLY).

Instead of waiting on hold again, I emailed a nasty note about how many times I emailed about the check's whereabouts, and this time got a response AND a phone call within 24 hours that it would be sent within 2 weeks.

Anyway, here's the best part -- it showed up the next day, and had been sent on 1/2! Thus, I'm not entirely sure all of them are completely aware of what they're doing, since none of them knew when the check was sent, if it was sent, or what.

You are correct, only a few know what is going on.

I just got off the phone with LG customer service.
Me:Hi, I'm calling about the BH200 rebate.
LG CS: May I get your name and phone number please?
Me: Yeah, it's *John Doe* and my phone *222-222-2222*
LG CS: Thank you, someone will call you with assistance
Me (in my head): No, I called you for assistance.
Me (what I actually said): thank you

Does anyone know how long I have to wait to get a call back? Should I just try again?

Edit: I never got a call back, but I called again today. The first lady was very nice and helpful. She got my info and told me to fax the receipt and the check will come. I fax the receipt, but it's an invalid number. I call again and was given another number, which turned out to be out of use. The third call, the customer service guy doesn't understand what I say and and keeps asking "Is it an LG?" I tell it's an LG BH200 and he tells me that it isn't effected by the recall.

From the sound of some recent LG CS experiences with the rebate, it seems that LG may be changing things now that it's been going on for a couple of months. It's possible that they may have decided to "cut it short" or, change the requirements??? After all, LG can decide to end this "inconvenience rebate" as they called it at any time.

Early in the "program", email was responded to via a phone call within a week at most. If emails aren't effective anymore, I would think the best bet is to call the CS number and ask to be transferred to the department handling the BD-Live rebate. If you are not transferred, I would just try calling again at another random time in an attempt to speak to someone in "BD-Live" who can expedite a check to you.

I would do this as soon as possible, as the window could be getting smaller. Also, if not done already, it can't hurt to register your player on their website.

Edit: @mondaycurse, with regards to the fax#...... on my last unit, the rep I spoke to gave me her specific fax. Told me the original fax number would not do the trick.

Weird. I called last week to check on a rebate I'd requested on 12/24 (by phone), and they told me the check was cut/processed on 1/2 as well. I'm getting a little nervous since it still hasn't arrived, but I'll give it until Monday before I call again.

Wow, this is a GREAT idea! I didn't even think of trying that! I've been using my cheap, but great, $20 RCA Universal with the player but wouldn't mind having the actual remote(as there are things I simply can't do with the RCA Univ). I will keep an eye on those auctions, see if I can win one and then talk the guy in to just sending me the remote(to save on shipping).

Or you could just get a Harmony remote.

I got my player from Best Buy---can they get me a copy of the receipt if I don't have mine anymore?

I think they can print up a duplicate receipt. But they might need the credit card that you used to look it up. (Assuming you used a credit card.)

I'd just call the store for confirmation.

Also, others have received the rebate without being asked to send in a copy of the receipt. I think that depends on the particular CSR you get on the phone. (I needed to fax in a copy of the Best Buy receipt.)

UPDATE: Apparently the "call back" was never going to happen since my check showed up today even though I was never told anything other than to expect a call back. It's a weird deal they got going there, but at least I got the money.

I received my check from LG today as well (1/20/09). However, I never got a call or email concerning the rebate. My process consisted of calling the CSR about the rebate (the number given by OP), emailing a copy of my invoice/receipt (along with all my other information, ie address, serial #, LG "case" #), and talked to another CSR on LG's livechat numerous days later just to make sure everything was underway (great service there).

Moreover, and I realize this is in the wrong thread, I'm expecting my repaired BH200 sometime this week. Hitherto--with LG's above average customer appreciation--am also hopeful and stringently optimistic at everything being 100%.

As for how long LG can keep this up? Act now.

After a couple of false starts, got my check today.

Originally had sent in email request to LG and was told I needed copy of my receipt. After I couldn't find my original, went to Best Buy and got a duplicate. Then I went and emailed it to LG site's and got no response. Eventually called and spoke to a rep who gave me her direct email, then I sent in email with a copy of receipt about 2 weeks ago and now have the check.

Got mine yesterday.
Simple chat on the phone < 2 weeks ago, scanned my receipt into PDF, and efaxed it to them.

NP at all.

Still waiting for my three checks but it won't be two weeks until this Friday. Although I never did call to confirm they received my fax of the receipts. If I don't get anything by Friday I'll call that evening.

I followed my second rebate closer than the first. Since the first rebate check got to me so quickly, having the second "drag on" caused a call to LG. They had no record of me calling in on the second player, nor the fax I sent them of the receipt for the second.

I'm glad I called in or I would have been waiting much longer. The second was the one I bought for $96 dollars. $21 for a combo player (open box of course) can't be beat!!
