LG BH200 $75 BD-Live compensation (rebate) info here - Page 2

Just got my rebate in the mail today. a little over a week after to speaking to LG, which was maybe 2-3 days after submitting the rebate request through the web. I am definitely pretty impressed with LG customer service. Not amazing, but considering the level of support a lot of companies give this was definitely way better than average.

Got mine about 8 days after submission - good on LG.

Blerg!!!

I called in to get the rebate for my two BH200s this morning. I don't have the receipts (I bought them at the end of last year), but I thought I still might have a chance after reading the posts on this thread. When I called LG the second thing they asked for (after the serial #s) was receipts.
I explained that I didn't have them any more, but I did have the boxes for both units and could fax in the proof of purchase labels instead. The guy told me to send it in anyway, but it didn't sound like he thought it would go through.

So anyone care to guess at what my chances are?
I say your chances are pretty good. With my first machine, all I faxed was a copy of the shipping portion of the side of the box (which shows the store it went to) and a note specifying the serial number and explaining that I didn't have the receipt. Got my check last week.

Got my rebate today. YAHOO

Got my rebates (took two weeks) and promptly went to BB last night and found an opened BH200 for $169 and bought it. I'll call today and get another $75 rebate. That gives me dual format capbility in all of the rooms we ever watch movies plus a one to spare.

The BH200 is a fabulous unit for less than $100.

I just called for my $75 rebate. Nice lady took down my information and told me that I should get a check in ~15 days. She did not ask me to send or fax in my receipt.

How are people finding these at Best Buy? No stock showing online anywhere near me.

Got my check yesterday (after only 4 business days). VERY happy with LG, and I love this player.

Open Box and Demo items will not show up in on-line inventory - you have to wander into the store and physically look. That is probably all that is left of these items now.

AFAIK,

You do have to go in and look for them. I have called and been told they have none and then see that they do once I get there.
Hmmm.. so open box units work? What about an open box or used unit from eBay?
I've gotten the rebate on both a new ebay model, and an open box model from Best Buy. Stands to reason you could get if for an open box on ebay, IF it hasn't been previously registered with LG. (Chances are good.)

Thanks! Just ordered an open box from consumerdepot.com for $217 shipped.

Very true. I picked up another BH200 last night at Best Buy for $199. It was a display and no box and did not show in online inventory.

FWIW- The guy gave me a remote from a BH300 (which works perfectly BTW) and I have to provide my own power cord. I will ask for the rebate today bringing cost to $125.

Another one? How many of these do you have now?

That makes 5, but I was able to fund the purchases by selling just two of my other players. I now have 4 BH200s scattered throughout my home and one put away for a backup if needed. I even replaced a BH100 with one of them and now my kids will have the BH100 at Grandma's house so we can take HD movies with us when we visit. My total outlay for all 5 after rebates (about $1000) is very reaosnable for the performance!

Whoo hoo!!!
LG sent my rebate checks out on Friday!

Ironically, I found the receipts while cleaning the house yesterday :-/

I'm so glad I found this thread. I haven't been on AVS for a while, but bought a 2nd BH200 yesterday @ BB (brand new in the box, not open box) and was looking up info about firmware etc and found this thread. So I've now applied for 2 rebates...and requested a CD for the newest firmware.

Ah, oldcarrot.

I see you know what you need to do, since I just responded in one of the other threads to your post.

I just got a rebate check in the mail, while waiting for the next one.

You could just go to LG's site and download the newest firmware and use a USB memory stick to get the job done quicker.

Just got my $75.00 rebate cheque and I live in Canada!!! Got to love LG USA, LG Canada I must say sucks the big one as far as customer service. Talked to both and I cringe when I have to talk to Canada where the customers is almost never first!!! I now call LG USA for way better support and respect.

Already got one check last week, and i just bought an open box at CC which is closing down for $95 + tax. Called in and they said another check will be sent out for this, less than $30 for this unit... even with no remote is a bargain anytime.

Wow! Excellent deal! If you got it for much less it would be free.

HD335, You now hold the record for the cheapest BH-200 with the exception of the guys that got one as a gift.

I have a spare remote I can sell you for let's say.......$75!

Good job HD, you earn the title of Grand Poobah BH200 Hunter.

No title yet until I get that $75 check in my parsimonious little hands. There is one more open box located at a Best Buy near my work. I was hoping to snag that one and sell it to anyone who needed one cheap or flea-bay it. They wanted $239.99 and would only come down 10% with no remote even after I spoke to a "senior level" manager.

Wow, LG! I just called in my request for a rebate on the second player I just received, and they had all my info from the prior request saved and said I didn't even need to send in the receipt this time.

Great service.

Be serious, no retailer sells these units in working condition for that price, nice try though

"In order to receive your $75 check, please submit your name, address, daytime phone number, serial number and a copy of your sales receipt to:
customerservice@lge.com ATTN: BH200 Rebate or fax to 256-775-8668"

So far the process appears to be quite painless and takes about 2 weeks to receive a check in the mail. Lets' try to be good now and keep all the questions, info, bragging, etc about the $75 rebate check out of the other threads... you can put all that stuff here.

i dont know if i should mail in the serial # or not off of mine cause i got it off of ebay and dont know if it was stolen or not. and besides that i didnt get a receipt with the original purchase only got one from ebay dont know if that would count.

I don't know how supportive LG is if something goes wrong during a firmware update, but if I use their supplied disk and something goes wrong I would expect them to fully support it. Toshiba is still mailing me firmware updates for my XA-1 HD-DVD player (how I got into hi def DVD in the first place)

I finally called in about the rebate, but they're so busy they could only offer a call back sometime later in the day. Kind of annoying, but I guess I should have figured that the day after Christmas, people would be calling in not knowing how to use their new christmas gifts.
