I have an existing surround sound system that I put together years ago from separate components. Its comprised a Sony Receiver and Infinity speakers (about 10 yrs old). I just purchased a new Sony STR-DA4300ES receiver and will need to either upgrade/replace all my speakers (for 7.1) or if possible just add two more (possibly 3 to replace center channel). My question is: Is it possible to match my existing Infinity Minuette MPS speakers with a new set of Left Front, Right Front and Center Infinity speakers? This way I dont have to replace all of them. That may not be the recommended way but I wanted to get some expert opinions on it. Also, how do you match speakers? I would assume that any speaker from the same series would match but in a situation like this what specs do you base it off of? I think I am interested in Infinity Towers for the front speakers.
Existing Speaker Specs
Frequency Response\t200Hz - 20kHz
Crossover Frequency(ies)\t5Hz
Sensitivity\t87dB @ 1 watt/1 meter
Woofer\t3.5" shielded
Tweeter\t0.5" polycarbonate w/acoustic lens
I have also attached the speaker manual to this post.
Thanks!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
