If you're 8' from the screen, and your mains are right up against the entertainment center, which is about 8' wide, then you certainly don't need to go "narrower" to obtain "perfect" setup... Dolby and THX both allow a 44-60 degree angle between the main speakers when viewed from the main viewing position... by the dimensions you gave, and what I can gather from the perspective in your pics, you're probably at about 46-48 degrees right now... so you're in the prescribed zone... the problem as I see it is that you're seating positions are fairly widely spread, hence the need to spread the mains further... if you can't, you can't, but I your limitation is the 8' entertainment center, yes?
Another thing to think about, the C-2 is an MTM design, so it has lobing effects that can be quite significant... differing interference between the drivers as you move across your listening positions... as a Klipsch owner myself, one of my (extremely) few gripes with them is this center design... I don't know how much the horn loaded tweeter changes these effects vs a more typical MTM without the horn, but for such a wide couch in that layout you might do better with a different center... ideally, the center would be identical to the mains, tough with towers, best would be a configuration like Klipsch's P27C, although that's probably not timbre matched to your towers, which is even more important, so making this change MIGHT mean changing lots of things...
