Yes, another advice needed thread, help me out

Ok, so i live in a small town and dont have much other than a CC and BB here to look. Just have not been happy with much that i have heard there and i realize environment takes away.

Current setup : Samsung 50 plasma, Onkyo 5.1 HT-R410 receiver, PS3 as blu ray player connected via optical input.

Anyway, i have read many threads here and have narrowed down the brands i think i might be interested in. AV123, emotiva, infinity, and a couple of others. What i am looking for is a crisp sounding system. Room is approx, 12x18 with tv being on the 12 side. Mostly movies, then games and music. I like to watch movies at theater volumes....loud.

So my requirements are as follows. Bookshelf sized, your average sized ones. Looking for a crisp clean sound....current HTIB speakers sound like they have a piece of paper or something in front of them....muffled sound.

Budget is around 750.00 for 5.0 setup. Have a velodyne sub that will work for now. Also, a good receiver to power your recommendation if you think my current one is out of date. I like HK, Onkyo, Denon, and maybe even a Pioneer.....this would be in addition to the speakers with a separate budget up to 700 ish.

Thanks a bunch for reading it all.

For HT I would definately look into SVS, HSU, Klipsch, or the cheaper version of Klipsch....BIC Acoustech.

I was able to listen to a couple of the smaller Klipsch speakers locally and dont think i cared for them. Something with the tweeter sound....kinda brassy or something. Was able to listen to a pair of Paradigm atoms today and i liked them, but think i can get a better deal via an ID company as the local store that had them were pretty high.

So, anyone with more suggestions, especially if you have owned your recommendation.

Thanks again.
