Mvix/Tvix and a 16:10 LCD display

I'm considering a Tvix or a mvix box.

Tvix boxes does have a HDMI connector, Mvix MX-760hd has a DVI and MX-780hd has a HDMI. I'd really like the mvix 780, but the HDMI port bothers me a bit.

Does these devices support regular LCD monitors (trough a converter). For instance a 19" widescreen (16:10) and a 1440x900 resolution?
Anyone got experience with this?

I have a Mvix 760HD and pretty happy with it. I've heard that there were some issues with 780 and HDMI but they fixed them some time ago with firmware updates.
I never used my Mvix with a regular monitor but I don't think that it should be a problem.
