I am trying to decide on the SIM2 Domino 80E or going with something far less expensive but potentially just as good i.e. Panasonic AE3000U or Sony VPL-HW10?
I previously owned a SIM2 HT200 and now own a SIM2 Domino 20. I want to upgrade to a projector that can display 1080p. I have never seen RBE so that is not an issue for me. The screen used is a Stewart Firehawk with a 96" diagonal. The room is light controlled.
The questions are:
1) If I have always had a DLP projector will I notice a difference in the picture displayed by other technology i.e. more depth (punch, 3D effect) on one display versus another?
2) Has anyone compared the colour saturation, maybe totally wrong newbie term, of the three noted projectors? Do any have a particular colour push?
3) Is SIM2 just more expensive because of the brand appeal or do they actually have projectors that display a better image?
4)Any quality control issues between the group. My first SIM2 was notoriously unreliable whereas the Domino has been bulletproof. In fact it fell from the ceiling mount and cracked the case and it still works just like before
5)How do black levels compare as I find that the Firehawk makes the image darker than I necessarily like to compensate for the black levels of early DLP technology?
