EDID Override Thread - Page 76

After lots of trials with different sound- and graphik drivers I think I need an EDID override for my Blaupunkt B47P187TCSFHD TV to get more than stereo.

zwischenablage017fr7g.jpg

This is how it looks. It would be very nice, if somebody could help me with the inf-file?

B47P187TCSFHD.zip 1k .zip file

Thank you very much!!

Try the other Blaupunkt mod previously posted. It should work for you:

Thanks, i'll try. But I've seen, that the other blaupunkt has a maximum resolution of 720p and mine has 1080p, is that a problem?

Thanks for the mod! I installed it many times (correct device, rebooted), but MonInfo still shows me the old EDID without DTS and only 2.0 in the channel configuration. Even so there is now DTS in the Realtek HDMI Audio properties available. So is the mod correct installed now or is it not? Is it normal that MonInfo doesnt show the new EDID?

Anyway, still got no S/PDIF signal at my AVR. I tried VLC-Player and MPC-HC (Speaker-config: Stereo) with ffdshow. Here are my ffdshow-settings:

Why doesn´t my AVR still get 5.1? And why is it working with the XBox? What does the XBox different according to my HP TM2 Laptop?

Some of them do. My Philips only did after an update. My evidence for that: XBox 360 with perfect DD 5.1 connected the same way to the TV. Before the Philips-Update it also delivers only 2.0 to the AVR.
Just check the "Windows Supported Formats" for the HDMI audio device. If AC3 and DTS are listed the EDID override has been correctly applied and the problem is not EDID related anymore.

It should be a player setup issue.

Hello,

I have a problem with my:
Yamaha RX-A3000
LG Plasma 60PK750
Nvidia GTX-580
Windows 7 x64 machine.

The problem is that my computer is seeing the LG TV instead of the Yamaha R3000 AVR and i'm not getting any lossless audio format on the Windows Audio Properties screen. Some people have told me to disable the passthrough on my yamaha receiver, but there is no option to do that with my receiver "that i've have found". Reading here I think making a force EDID override to my system is my final hope.

What I need is to force my system into seeing my Yamaha receiever as the playback device instead of my LG monitor. Is that even possible? please tell me yes.

Your setup is Ok. The GTX-580 cannot bitstream (so no DTS-HD or TrueHD passthrough), but you can decode those and send them as multi-channel LPCM to your Yamaha. No difference in SQ.

My GTX 580 can bitstream. If I connect my LG TV from my Yamaha AVR using the HDMI input #3 on the LG TV my PC see the Yamaha A3000 instead of the LG TV on the playback devices , but i'm having too many problems like particles and black screen when I use that input. I can use the LPCM with my Yamaha and it sounds, but I do notice a difference in SQ, specially with my Bass sound so I do like to bitstream instead of using the PCM. Can I force my PC into viewing my Yamaha receiver instead of the LG TV using the EDID hack?

edit:

When I run MonInfo, I can see that the LG TV and the Yamaha A3000 is in there. Here is a screenshot of how my MonInfo looks. As you can see my computer is using right now the Display ID GSM001, but I'd like to use the YMH3159 instead.

AFAIK GTX580 is based on GF110, so it does not bitstream HD audio (TrueHD or DTS HD). And in fact they are not listed as supported formats for the HDMI audio device. As for the Yamaha being identfied as a LG TV try removing registry leftovers by following procedure in section 4 in my sig. Anyway this is irrelevant as the audio capabilities are correctly detected (full resolution multichannel LPCM and Dolby Digital Plus).

EDIT:

Just look at the real-time EDIDs detected by Moninfo, and that the video timings and audio capabilities (in the Supported Formats window for the HDMI audio driver) are OK.

The same happens when I connect my PC using the onboard Z77 i7 CPU HDMI port. Can I do what I want to do if I use the onboard HDMI connetor?
Yes, that should work. OTH I'm not sure HD4000 will accept an EDID override. It could be tried anyway.
I have been trying to fix this on my own for several hours now and have just about tossed the monitor off of a cliff. Basically I need the max supported resolution to be 1680X1050@60Hz with no option whatsoever for 1680X1050@75Hz. For some reason the NV drivers keep defaulting to 75Hz which causes the monitor to kick offline.

Dear experts, I hereby need your immediate advice.

Since I purchased my Denon AVR-991 almost two years ago I was using it with HTPC, i.e., HTPS HDMI->Denon avr-991->3D Epson 3010 projector.

I had installed TotalMedia Theatre 5 with all latest builds and graphic card's (ASUS GT 520 silent) latest drivers. TMT5 is having two issues.

1) All my 2D blu-ray disks, it is playing them back automatically at 3D mode and
2) Secondly by using TMT5 at default settings I was getting too much of brightness at each playback.

I took this matter with TMT support and for 2 months we corresponded with each other but they could not isolate this issue in their labs so no solution made so far.

Yesterday just an idea came to my mind and I removed Denon 991 from the equation and connected HTPC directly to the projector and to my extreme surprise TMT5 exhibited its functions perfectly all right. All 2D BDs were playing back at 2D and 3D at 3D and no more over brightness issue. Its strange that TMT5 is having this issue but PDVD12 did not have this issue while AVR stayed in the equation.

For this reason I purchased this

http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=109&cp_id=10113&cs_id=1011306&p_id=7522&seq=1&format=2

HDMI splitter from monoprice and connected it in following way:

HTPC->HDMI splitter then HDMI 1 to Epson 3D projector and HDMI 2 to Denon 991.

In this way i get only 2 channel stereo to my AVR as I assume that splitter provides EDID info of Epson 3D projector to HTPC and thus PowerDVD12 or TMT5 detects epson's audio hardware which is 2 channel. Now this is prefered setup and at this setup everything works fine except i get 2 channel audio to AVR. There is no any option on PDVD or TMT to send HD audio via HDMI out from HTPC if connected in this way. May be there is some other way to do that??????

on the other hand if I connect AVR to HDMI 1 out and Epson 3D projector to HDMI 2 out of splitter then i do get HD audio onto my AVR but then PDVD and TMT refuse to playback 3D saying that 3D display is not detected.

Is there any way or trick that i can solve this dilemma??? I am not good at EDID modification or by pass, etc., is there any easy solution or trick?

If i need EDID override, can someone help me and tell me in detail what shall i have to do. I am a good learner and I want to learn.
Please help.
Thanks
Salman

Hi,

i see there are skilled people here in overriding EDID files. I have read instructions and tried it myself, but with no luck.
my setup is: laptop => hdmi => tv => toslink (optical) => logitech z5500 surround

i only get stereo sound, which makes no sense at all because my ati card supports up to 7.1 channels.. this is what i see in EDID: EDID samsung.jpg 261k .jpg file

and this is the info. file: monitor.zip 1k .zip file

i just wanted this to work:

DTS 6-channel, 1536k max. bit rate at 44/48/88/96 kHz
AC-3 6-channel, 640k max. bit rate at 32/44/48 kHz
and DD as well, but i cant find the right info and bitstreams for this...

tyvm if you guys can edit this file to make my audio work... i have been pulling all my hair for days now on this one

thanks very much in advance!

Here's your mod. Just in case you will still get 2 channels in Windows. See previous posts on the subject for clarification.

Samsung+(2LPCM,AC3&DTS,6SPKRS).zip 1k .zip file

so, i installed this inf file, which i have many thanks for. And when i go look in device manager it also says this driver is actually installed. But when i check if the audio formats are updated now with moninfo, it still only shows "LPCM 2-channel, 16/20/24 bit depths at 32/44/48 kHz" frown.gif
maybe you know how to fix this or what is causing this?

many thanks again for the mod

If AC3 and DTS are listed, the EDID override has been correctly applied. As I said 2-channel LPCM is correct for S/PDIF bandwidth of your TV. Please refer to previous posts on the subject.

Hello all experienced users.

I've tried modding myself without good results. I may have a bit odd setup:

Desktop Computer -> HDMI -> HDMI Matrix with S/PDIF Coax output -> (HDMI -> TV) // (Paralel) (S/PDIF -> Logitech Z-5500 system)

My hardware in specifics:

Radeon HD 6970 with DVI-HDMI Converter -> HDMI -> HQ AVSWITCH 49 -> (HDMI -> Samsung UE50S5705) // (Paralel) (S/PDIF -> Logitech Z-5500 reciever)

I know the hardware works since i get the 5.1 audio from my PS3 which is connected identically but to another input of the Hdmi Matrix. However it seems to be an EDID issue since windows insists i can only chose 2 speakers. I've tried countless setups with media players and decoders without any luck, all i can get out is stereo or it wont give me any sound whatsoever.

Here is the .inf from the screen captured by . MonInfo I suppose windows detects the TV EDID only, i dont think the hdmi matrix adds anything?

Samsung UE50S5705.zip 1k .zip file

Could anyone help me modify this .inf file with with EDID overrides so i can chose Dolby Digital (AC3) / DTS?

I would be deeply grateful for any help.

Hello, I have a 3D Ready projector benq mw516 with a 3D Vision kit, I did not know that nVidia only accepted projectors licensed to use the 3D features, so I'm having a lot of trouble to make it work, I got a file. INF (OEM) here site managed and run some games, just bad with the 285.62 driver but he acknowledges my projector as a CRT and does not work perfectly, somehow hesitate to create a. INF that makes the 3D Vision recognizes my projector as prepared for 3D Vision ? If you have an idea I'll be very grateful ...

Try the attached mod.

I don't think that is the case. See here. So, basically, try the clean-up procedure outlined in section 4 in my sig. You should only require an EDID override if you need HD audio.

if you manage to make it work with the mod that tullie gave you, let me know. Cuz you have kind of a similar setup as i do and i cant make it work with the mod he provided me with, although i followed every step there is to the lettre... not that i doubt his knowledge. But there might be something im overlooking

sincerely
