Tried the DVI to the HDMI generic adapter. No luck. Will only send 1024x768 60Hz. Not 120Hz.
How do you connect? DVI -> DVI-HDMI adapter -> HDMI cable -> AVR -> HDMI cable -> projector won't work obviously.
OK I missed your first post. First try this:

Connect a DVI port of the graphics card directly to the projector via a generic DVI-HDMI adapter. Ignore audio part.

See if you can get 3D video this way. If not, perhaps you will need a HDMI sound card and use two HDMI cables. HD 5450 supports TrueHD and DTS-HD bitstreaming.
Just went out to buy a HD 5450. All the shops were closed.

Will try out your method. Hopefully this will work?

Thanks

Got it Working.

As renethx suggested, I started all over again.

I plugged in the generic DVI-HDMI adapter/cable from the graphics card and straight to the PJ, with no other connections. I then tried the different resolutions (i.e. 1200 x 800, 60 Hz native resolution, 1024 x 768, 60Hz and finally 1024 x 768, 120Hz) all worked. Tested 3D it also worked. Incidentally this cable is 8mts long and is rated as 1.4a.

I then connected another HDMI cable from the HDMI port graphics card to the AVR for TrueHD and DTS-HD Bitstreaming, the little speaker icon at the bottom of windows task bar showed AMD audio. Checked the properties for the AMD HDMI audio and there was all the different audio formats supported. Phew.

Tested the audio and all looks goooooood.

I haven't run a full movie a yet. Plan to do so soon.

Just wanted to thank you'll for guiding me through this..

Once again Thank You .

Will advise when I watched a full 3D movie via the PC Blu-ray player.
As stated I decided to play a 3D movie.

Put in the disc and started powerdvd11.

That's when everything went horribly wrong.

No 3D. Unable to set the graphics card to 3D resolution (1024x768 120Hz).

Tried to set the resolution to native (1200x800 60Hz). Will not accept it. The projector tries to constantly find the 3D setting??? and then does nothing (black screen even though I can see the projector lamp is on).

It will only set to 1024x768 60 Hz. if I open any media player, the whole unit freezes and only a reset will start it up.

Any Advice?????
Hey guys I've been trying to dig through this article like crazy. I'm not sure if i'm quite understanding it the way i'd like to tho and I've been reading for a couple days now.

I have an LG BH7520T that's supposed to support LPCM, DTS HD MA, Dolby TrueHD all the good stuff right? Then I have it running from an ATI Radeon HD 6750 that carries 5.1

I can get it to carry DTS 3/2.1 on a Blu-ray in my Blu-ray drive which is nice. The only problem is when I load Star Trek Online its apparently not in surround, so maybe I have to install skyrim or something and see if its Dolby or DTS 5.1 because most of the time the computer reads pcm2/0.0 on my LG. I ran an EDID for a Sony TV to a 5.1 amp because WIndows would only show that my system was in Stereo which I've read a lot of other people had an issue similar but would have different results that wouldn't work for me.

The way its configured exactly is ATI Radeon HD 6750 ----> LG BH7520T HDMI OUT to Sony Bravia. I notice on Moninfo the Sony TV is detected and my LG is active real time. Should my PC even be transmitting 5.1 all the time? Mayb my Sony is interfering even tho its on the HDMI out and shouldn't really be putting out any sound as its run through my 5.1. PS3 works great and i'm pretty sure when I play blu-rays on the LG blu ray machine is the only time I can get the True HD or DTS HD MA.
Check that all audio formats are supported for the HDMI audio device in properties tab. If none is listed the AVR HDMI should be set to no passthrough of the TV audio.
In the properties tab before I used the EDID from a Sony TV + 5.1 system I found in here it used to say originally that I had Dolby Digital and DTS. None of the higher end stuff was being put out of my Radeon HD 6750. I assume my card only supports DTS or Dolby Digital. Although in that very same properties tab it would say that i only had a maximum of 2 channels supported by the card which doesn't make any sense as its supposed to be 5.1

Now with the EDID i forced the other modes but they don't really do anything. Now i can set it to 5.1 surround for Windows but it still only outputs LPCM 2/0.0 on the LG which my Computer and my PS3 are running into. The LG runs out to my Sony Bravia. I know my TV does support Dolby Digital as I've had it run through their before but it doesn't support much else. I'm worried that what I've read before in this forums is that it detects the TV at the end and that it only has 2 speakers so it might not read more than 2 channels? I feel like i'm getting closer or i'm just missing something small maybe.

I know my LG Blu Ray players supports almost any format and is also my 5.1 surround sound. Its supports DTS HD MA and Dolby True HD as well as LPCM at any level i believe. The Radeon is maybe the issue? Its running HDMI to my LG amp directly and it should be 5.1 and it definitely pushes through on the Blu Ray Movies. Maybe its not supposed to put 5.1 all the time and just with certain items? I'll try one of my other games i know is surround and see if i can get that to work but i'm doubting it at this point.
I did some more research. It seems my Amp wants to pass the sound to the TV possibly when its on my Computer HDMI for some reason. I can't turn this off either. It only gives me the option for digital output ---> LPCM, LPCM Multi-Channel, DTS Re-Encode, and Bitstream
post #2831 of 3084
I also just checked the spec on my HD radeon 6750 and its supports Dolby True HD and DTS MA formats as well. I'm not sure why there's such an issue here. I just edid overrided by creating an inf on moninfo for my LG and it went back to Stereo only support for Windows. For some reason in Moninfo it doesn't read all the outputs that my LG players is supposed to output such as DTS MA or Dolby TrueHD, it doesn't even say it has Dolby Digital which I know it has at least that low end format.

The funny thing is I don't think that data is right as it should support DTS MA, Dolby True HD, and several other formats than the ones listed. Its also supposed to support LPCM Multi-Channel.
Sorry to post in a row like this but I keep finding new information and it doesn't let me edit the posts.

Here's what I will quote from the manual in a weird section that should be also mentioned in the audio parts of the manual as its hard to notice it. LG BH7520T manual says "The player sends audio from the HDMI inputs to both the HDMI output and to the unit's speakers" i'm guessing by that wording it doesn't allow you to change that. This may be where this issue is coming in as the computer may be passing through the signal to the TV and reading it only has 2 channels. However, moninfo does recognize 6 channels from the LG, does Windows and AMD just ignore the LD readings? Even so, i'm still surprised at how moninfo isn't showing all the options that should be available and neither is the AMD driver showing anything more than DTS or Dolby Digital when both the video card and my player both play DTS MA and Dolby trueHD according to the specs.

So my question now is, is moninfo right and my player only supports those 2 types of files in LPCM, AC3, and DTS? No dolby? Seems all really weird to me. Should I be taking the LG back or getting a Nvidia video card? I think I can take the LG back but if the ATI is the problem its 2 years old now and I can't return that, but this whole time I thought I was getting 5.1 so I don't get it. I could've sworn Skyrim was in Surround but i'm starting to think it wasn't now as I was constantly testing it and couldn't really tell I think but never thought twice about my card as it said on the box it supported all the HD quality DTS and Dolby formats.

Is my TV the issue, even though its specs Sony KDL 40EX400 state that it has 5.1 outputs (probably the optical) but it would maybe be whats being read by the computer as an output now from the amp as only a 2 channel system?

EDIT: Hey I found edit. Sorry i'm not used to the layout of this board. However I am updating to say i'm going to try the ATI beta drivers 13.8 and then i'm going to try and older driver and see if that solves anything, long shot in the dark.

Post the real-time EDID of your TV to add to it a full audio block.
I don't know if I can get real-time unless I plug it straight through to the tv.

I had to get this by plugging my Computer directly to my TV. Now i'm plugging it back into my amp that goes out to my tv

Do you think I should delete my TV from the Registry possibly as I only want the LG amp to be detected?

The reason why I say this is because the LG amp is seen as the monitor by my computer (in device manager only 1 monitor is shown and its my LG blu ray player), or are they still loading both registry's like I have both hooked up?

Try the attached EDID override:

I will try it right now.
Its a no go. Still saying in the windows control panel "Stereo" and everything other than movies is "LPCM 2/0.0" as i'm trying to get at least 5.1 lpcm. or anything in 5.1
post #2842 of 3084
That means that it's not correctly installed. Double-check installation procedure (see my sig.).
OK, by looking at the specs of the lg-BH7520T this is a device that will only play HD audio from the bulit-in BD player, and the HDMI input will only accept a S/PDIF bandwidth (as per EDID specs).

So, it's indeed max 2-LPCM and 6-AC3 and 6-DTS passthrough audio over the HDMI connection. You'll only get 5.1 with applications sending a non-decoded AC3 or DTS stream.
That's strange because I have my PS3 running through the other HDMI in and it gets DTS 3/2.1

Its only my computer that does this. I was able to re-install and select the 5.1 surround but it doesn't play the sound out of those speakers.

Shouldn't it play or is it because the PS3 games all have Dolby or DTS on them already? That's probably why I get 5.1 sound out of the movies on my Nero Blu Ray Player on my Computer's Blu-ray Drive but not my games?

As well would that mean that, like you said, my only way is through S/PDIF but isn't that also max 2 channel LPCM? Meaning basically there's no way to get 5.1 LPCM from my current amp from my Computer? But XBOX 360, PS3 will all be fine because those games already include that stuff on the software? If so I might have to consider returning this for something that will do the job.

Hi, I'm looking to get an EDID override for my panasonic tc-p60st60 to be able to play 3D video games at 1080p/60hz. I have Nvidia's 3dtv play and it automatically changes to 720p/60hz when attempting to play games in 3D. I'm attaching the EDID for my tv. Any help would be appreciated!

AFAIK it's not possible with current NVidia drivers. Search for related posts in the thread.

It's the rule with these HT systems: the bandwidth over the HDMI input (s) is S/PDIF, so no HD audio-in. Only the built-in BD player will give you TrueHD or DTS-HD.
