What's broken about CoD4 other than an occasional annoying text popup? The game still plays fine.

Hacked lobbies, constant text scrolling up the left half of the screen, quickscoping, elevators hack, glitching out of map. Ask Eric, he has seen all this happen as well.

Hmm...all I've noticed are the popups. Is it worse on PS3 or something? What is the elevator hack?

All you need to do to deal with QSers is juggernaut though.

I sold my copy of the PS3 long time ago and I played this on Xbox. Elevator hack lets one skywalk, glitching out of map lets one beyond the invisible walls and also go below the map. This is similar to the rock glitch in Fuel because they can shoot you but you can't shoot them back. Juggernaut can't save you when the QS is shooting at you from across the map over and over again. The QC is more ridiculous in CoD4 and I have seen players simply running around and firing the rifle and the crosshair and even the view in the scope would be 20feet away from the target. Thats just poor programming.

All together, I have whored this game out and can't recall all the hate everyone else had dealt with. I guess, it's like the people that enjoy BLOPS and can't see why some of us hated it.

It doesn't take EVERYONE running noob tube classes to suck some of the fun out of the game. The first map I jumped into with you guys last night was High Rise and between the dude up on the roof and a few noob tubers it was difficult. I just remember that Dom or HQ on maps like Terminal were absolute tube fests.

Tubing with DC is a low skill activity. It doesn't require much aim, so when you add in virtually unlimited ammo for them, it encourages that behavior and devalues FPS skills that should be at a premium: quick target acquisition and accurate fire.

I've said it a million times, the tubing isn't the end of the world and I did MORE than my share of it, mostly with a "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" attitude. But there is no question in my mind that MW2 would be a far better game without the tube (and commando) class combos that people run, and I think MW3 is poised to prove that. I'll never understand why IW and it's successors feel like they need to cater to quick-scopers, but that's another discussion altogether!

I agree and I do the same when I run across tubers.

What makes me think that the devs continue to keep qs in mw3 is the popularity it has been made by hutch and some others in machinima. They are like free promoters and support for these games.

I think it's more to do that QSing is more of a nuisance rather than a game breaker like oma/dc/gl. It's quite a bit more legitimate and does take some skill...I can't do it for the life of me. But anyone can noob tube.

Well, this is where some people may disagree. Tubing is more legit because it goes where you send it and the damage radius is constant. QS, the one that I refer to as QS is not legit at all and people that does it are simply curving bullets. I have tried QSing and do it quickly but I atleast have my crosshair on the subject, I don't always get a kill. Whatever method others use, whether its dragging or some other non-sense, it's not legit and and broken. It's been this way since CoD4.

Also, agreed. It is a nuisance. I can at least wear a blast shield to keep me alive longer from tubes but can't against QS. Except Riot Shield.

QS is just friggin annoying. Maybe it's not a game breaker but I freaking can't stand getting QS'd. Just thought I'd get that in here before PJ shows up!

I'm home tonite with no plans, no football is on.. and I'm trying to play MW2 tonite. Only 2 more months left before MW3 comes out!

And yes I will be using Scavenger + Noobs + RPGs + Danger Close or Quick Scoping

I wish I had gotten the chance to try out a sniper class for myself. If they at least dropped the run speed, aim assist or ADS time of snipers it would go a long way. There's no confirmation of any of these things...so there's still hope.

We are not used to seeing so many killstreaks and being on that side of the beatings. Now I know what it feels like to play us in BLOPS We did dish out a few beat downs, but I think we may have lost more than we won. I went negative a lot, very unusual Did get a couple AC130s though.

The noob tubing, especially in ground war, is ridiculous. It's even worse because we suck and can't keep them in check like we used to. I also hate 9v9 ground war on the maps that are optimized for 6v6. It's way too crowded, hard to stay alive, very chaotic, not really much strategy, etc. Not a fan. I remembering hating the lag on ground war, but it's funny, a year of black ops makes me think that even GW on MW2 is smooth as hell.

Speaking of smooth, it's pretty remarkable how smooth the game runs in comparison. I'm not trying to get into the *why* here, just stating the fact that it does. It feels that it holds a much higher framerate than BLOPS and is MUCH more consistent at it. I also love that your bullets are very responsive in comparison. I'm not sure I got BSed one time all night where I thought I had the guy, but my bullets did not count.

And man this game is FAST paced. From the loading into the game taking probably 1/3 the time of BLOPS, to the INSTANT response of clicking menus to view leaderboards, change class, clan tag, etc, to the insanely fast and intense gameplay, it's just FAST. Like Jammy says, it's like crack. A lot of non-stop action, and when you die, man you respawn and can get right back into it. So fast. Very much an arcade feel. I know COD is pretty much an arcade shooter anyway, but this one is even faster than like BLOPS where it seems there are more gun "battles". I think it's because the guns in MW2 are laser beams in comparison, which ends the "battles" much quicker than fighting the recoil.

I know this title is hit or miss for many of you, but I still dig it. Good times.

Before I started playing with guys from AVS I stuck with TDM, and a little FFA and S&D. I didn't really like the chaotic nature of GW Dom or regular Dom. I guess the latter don't fit my playing style because I much prefer killing with guns and can't get myself to noobtoob, even though I know I could get good at it and have it be effective in obj games. I dislike it that much, lol

PJ, that match on Kirachi where that guy killed 4 of us at the start and then 3 later when the team was trying to cap C was ridiculous. Watching that explosive go straight up in the air and then drop on us was ridiculous. He definitely spent time perfecting that. Then he went on to camp on that roof overlooking the bus depot while noobtoobing using OMA, DC. Once he had padded his score and we were trapped at C he went around looking for kills. Guy went 54-15 or something. He was really good, but I just can't get myself to play like that.

I'm not sure about you guys but I find playing TDM and especially FFA helps improve my accuracy and overall play, which then can transfer to Dom and GW. FFA really gets my reflexes firing.

Sounds like you had as much fun as we did. You didnt miss anything.. just the normal hooliganism we bring to the game. With MW3 around the corner.. I'm sure most people are interested in playing more MW2 now, IW games really do play very differently.. and most of us can use the practice.

What subjects do you photograph? And what kinda of camera do you use? I'm interested in picking up a DSLR as a Xmas present for myself. Seems people either go Nikon or Canon. But I see more Nikon around. Costco has the Nikon D5100 with 18-55 & 55-300mm VR Lenses, Case, 4GB 30MB/s SD Card all for for $999. Seems like a good deal.. what you think? It would be my first DSLR.

Yeah we did enjoy the photoshoot but watching DW was even more fun. It was Zombie VS Vampire!!

I shoot pretty much anything, except weddings. I can't get into that for many reasons. It's a lot of work and since I don't do this full time, it would take me longer to process the photos to give back to the client.

I do product photography for my gf and do portraits for friends and family. Lately I have gotten a few gigs shooting real estate and I am really digging it. It's a lot of fun to shoot and it's easy money =]

Now, for your camera choices, you can't wrong with either Nikon or Canon. I started out with a Nikon but then Switched over to Canon. There are times I want to switch back to Nikon, lol!

They are both outstanding brand and the camera that you chose, the Nikon D5100 will do more than what you may use it for. It has full auto mode plus creative mode and of course full manual. It has a flip out rear lcd which is good for keeping it from getting scratched up unless it comes with a plastic cover then it's redundant. The lenses that are included are good and will allow you to get group shots to those nice portrait shots with the blurred background.

One thing to note though is that this particular camera does not have a full frame sensor, meaning it will give you a smaller viewing angle and will be magnified a little. A full frame sensor is equivalent to 35mm film, thus, your viewing area and the focal distance is true to the set focal length on the lens. So, on a full frame sensor camera, an 18mm focal length is really 18mm, while on a crop sensor camera (Nikon D5100), an 18mm focal length is actually 27mm because the sensor has a 1.5 crop factor

Without getting too technical, it's a good camera and will take great photos and videos. Which another cool thing with this is that it shoots 1080p and has full time autofocus. I have a Canon 5D Mark II and it does 1080p but doesn't have full time autofocus, so, I have to manually focus my subject. This is ok for me because I can control what I want to focus for creative purposes.

Thanks for the info man. I've read a few reviews/shootouts with the D5100.. and its pretty much advertised as what you said. Easy enough for the beginner.. but with manual adjustments for the more advanced.

I did see one guy complaining it didnt have an AF motor. Is that autofocus? From what you explain with the 1080p video.. sounds like it does!

On topic: I'm down to play MW2 again tonite, if anyone else is playing.

I don't know what that guy was talking about but the AF (auto focus) motor is in the lens and not the camera body. The camera body sends electronic signals to the lens which has the motor to move the glass elements to focus. The video does the same thing but does it constantly to keep your subject focus so you don't have to.
