I have never heard the svd mts-01's and was wondering how much better they will sound than my 1999 Polk RT400's. The room is 12x12 and they will be powered by a pioneer vsx92-txh and used for only watching movies. I am also thinking of replacing my polk c500 center channel wiht the mcs-01 from svs as well. Thanks for any input you have.

I just replaced my Infinity Alpha 50 system with the SVS MTS family. I could not be happier with my purchase. Everyone has different taste when it comes to speakers, but I am incredibly happy now. If your on the fence for an upgrade, give them a shot, you can always send them back and get a refund if you don't like them. SVS is also a great company with top notch people, and excellent customer service. Good luck.

Thanks, I did not realize that SVS had such a liberal return policy. Are my polks similar to your Alphas?

I honestly can't compare my Alpha's to your Polks because I've never heard them. Judging by looks (and this is dangerous) I'd say they are about equal, perhaps the Alpha's being on the higher end somewhat. I paid $1,000 for the pair back in 03 or 04.

SVS gives you a 45 day no questions asked return option. You do, however, have to pay the return shipping if you decide not to keep them. I do not think you will want to return them when you hear them. They are that good.
