I would like to give this a try and see what it does. One thing I am not sure how to do "Then go in and bump 5 IRE 5 points". How do I do that?

C'mon people I need more feed back. How do these look? Screen shots. Comparisons. Something. I am 3 months away from mine and I need something to vicariously enjoy.

Jason do you have more feedback on how the 10 compares to the RS1, 2 other PJ's??

It doesn't seem like many people have the rs10 yet and the ones that do have been sequestered. lol

Oh well - thanks for the advice - I still don't seem quite smart enought to figure it out. I could set the Gamma to 2.4 easily. I saw the curve for White as Alan mentioned in his message. When I get to the first point on the curve it says Input 5% Output 37. The second point says Input 10% Output 87, etc. You can move along the curve, but the only thing that can be adjusted is the output. Is he saying to increase the Output at the 5% point from 37 to 42?

Can you share with us the color settings you settled on when you tested the RS10?

I saw a decent demo of a Sony VW60 at the Needham Tweeter weeks ago and it looked pretty good for a Tweeter demo. Decent sized screen, too, at 114". This was the day I found out Tweeter was going belly-up and I went there looking for a bargain on a flat panel.

I don't know. You could ask in the RS2 thread or ask Alan directly or just experiment. Anyway, the gamma bump to 2.4 is the gregr tweak and what is supposed to give the RS2 a 3D-look and you already have that done. Notice a difference?

Yes, I did notice an improvement moving the gamma bump to 2.4 compared to the previous setting. As this is my first 1080 projector, I can't comment on how that picture would compare to other 1080 projectors. I was watching Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. The picture and contrast of the first 20 minutes is simply stunning and has an amazing 3D quality with the RS10. It would be hard to imagine a better quality picture with a film like this although it sounds like possibly the RS20 might provide that. I am looking forward to learning more about the other settings on this projector to further tweak things.

I have watched 4 movies so far on the RS10. Kung Fu Panda, Pirates, and Wall-E - all have amazing PQ. Then I watched Ocean's Thirteen. Uggg... I hestitate to bring up the already mentioned color issue but the colors for this movie were awful. It's really hard to know if it was just the movie or possibly the projector as well, as I believe that the movie itself has quite intentional color saturation. I am sure the projector didn't make it any better. This would NOT be the film to show off a system...

Ocean's 13 looked like CRAP on my RS1. It aint even in the same ballpark (or planet) as Kung Fu Panda, Pirates, and Wall-E. Which are three of the best (if not THE best) transfers ever put to disc.

I got mine a little after yours but just managed to get it out of the box tonight. Sad to have no time. Looking forward to the mandatory holiday vacation at work.
