Using PowerDVD8 with X-Fi and Gigaworks S750, I have been using Pro Logic IIx to make 5.1 tracks use all 7.1 with good results. However it doesn't work with DD+ at 1.5mbps. Works with all other sound formats though.
TrueTheater Surround seems to be a similar technology, making 5.1 into 7.1. I'm wondering which of these two people prefer and use? What exactly are the differences between them and which uses better algorithms? Flipping back and forward I can't really tell which is "better", however TrueTheater Surround does work with DD+ 1.5mbps. TrueTheater also seems to artifically increase the volume on certain tracks though.
