How to Hide Transport Control Buttons in Vista Media Center?

I am looking for a way to permanently hide the built in transport control buttons (play, pause, etc.) that show up in the lower right corner when I move my mouse. Here is a pic:

I have no use for them and in some applications they are actually in the way, e.g. blocking the 'scroll pages' arrows in MyMovies.

I am hoping for a registry hack or something to disable or at least hide those transport control buttons. Any pointers?

I did quite a bit of Google research and also checked menumender but came up empty.

TIA!

PS: I am using Vista Home Premium (32bit) SP1.

In MyMovies, you can do optimize for mouse / touchscreen in the settings, and then they won't cover anything up.

Thanks for your reply.

I only found an option to either check or uncheck "Optimize interface for mouse or touch screen". I am not sure what it actually does. However it does not hide the controls for me whenever I move the mouse.

Sorry if I was a little unclear. What it does is move the "__ of ___" and the page up / down buttons that would normally get covered by the transport buttons, and puts them in a different position on the screen where its not covered by anything, which won't entirely solve your problem but should help you some.

Got it! Thanks!

The check mark moves the "__ of ___" to the top. That's a workaround - at least for now.

I am still hoping to find a way to permanently hide the control buttons (I am a purist )
