How to Turn off PS3

I've PS3 and Sony Bluray Remote.

- I couldn't locate any button in remote to turn off the PS3.

- Even if I step out of my couch and manually press the power/standby button in PS3, it doesn't turn off. I have to turn off the power switch located in the rear.

Am I missing anything?

The remote dose not have a power button, You have to keep your finger on the sensor button for about 4 second to turn off the player.

Keep the the "PS" button pressed on the blu-ray remote or the sixaxis controller for a second. You will then get the option on-screen to either turn off the system or the controller. Select the former and after 2-3 seconds the PS3 will shut down itself. You can then turn it off from the rear button once the light goes red from green. I hope this clears it.
