it sounds like you are having a problem with folder structure in MB
make sure that you have a separate folder for every movie.
directly under that folder goes the metadata file and folder.jpg (which will be your cover art) and the rest of the folders go in that folder exactly how they got ripped.
So...let me see if I understand you correctly here.
I'm using ISO images so I start by creating a folder called "Paul's Big Adventure" (just for example)
I rip the ISO into that folder...I'm clear to that point.
From there, I find the poster (folder.jpg) and backdrop (backdrop.jpg) that I want to use...either with MetaBrowser (or in my case, I download them directly from TMDB) and place them in, and this is where I get confused:
a) the "Paul's Big Adventure" folder
b) ANOTHER folder INSIDE the "Paul's Big Adventure folder"
Also, the metadata file is an XML file...correct? That contains all the information that the app (MetaBrowser) downloads...again correct?
I also had the great Epiphany Moment and noticed how to launch files with selected apps last night...what can I say, I took a dip in the pool...was calm, cool and collected and everything was making sense (momentarily at least).
The way I have it now is everything is in that "Paul's Big Adventure" folder and I think that's working but during my Epiphany Moment last night when everything WAS working briefly, I lost the Poster Images. I had finally discovered how to configure the player from WITHIN the app and I'm not sure if I did something incorrectly or not. I was tired and it was kinda late so I shut down and hit the sack
