Did you set up the external player config correctly?

oh - probably not. Im guessing that means TMT has to be told it should be playing back native folders instead of ISOS?

You have to setup the mediabrowser external player configuration, the details are in the release notes.

ahhh - ok .. I thought since it was launching TMT when I played Blu ray ISOs that it would automatically do the same when playing native folders. I will go back through the notes. Thanks!

by the way, i cannot get the mediabrowser forums to send me registration confirmation. Did you get in?

as far as the new release, one thing i do not like is the details view it clashes with the backdrop image now, so you have a picture inside of a picture.

I downloaded the videobrowser and it is working well except I cannot see the cover art.There is a frame with the name of the dvd.When I click on it then I can see all the coverart and details.I am also using SMO to get the metadata and my OS is Vista premium SP2 (32 bit).Any help would be appreciated.

I have been playing around with this program to see how it works. I have a number of TV series in and got the info on them with TV Scout and all works great. I added some of my sons baby einstein videos to it that had no meta info (just .mpg files) and I was surprised that Media Browser found the cover are for them, well some.

This got me to thinking whey the TV series were taking some time to pull up all of the episode images. If I disable the internet it will not show cover art and such even though the info has been downloaded with TV scout. It seems the Media Browser still counts on the internet to get its info. Am I correct.

If so where does it get the information from and does it only have to do it once. If it does it once where is it storing it.

I am still unable to get it to work with native blu ray folders.

I added the following to the config file to get it to launch TMT to play...

I get the error message : "There was a problem playing the content Check location exists:
C:\\users\\John\\videos\\iron_man_d1

I get the same error, but the movie will go ahead and play for me. If I click off the error before TMT starts, all is good. If I leave the error, I get constant "beeping" during TMT's playback and have to switch over to VMC to click "ok" on the error and switch back to TMT (w/ Alt-TAB).

So, it is getting close. If the bogus error can get fixed and, hopefully soon, support for VCD (I get an "unable to mount" error every time and unfortunately have all of my BD ripped as ISO's for now.) is added, I'll def switch from MM2.

BTW, here's my mediabrowserxml.config section which will start the 10-ft interface for TMT:

I changed up my code a little to be closer to yours, and it does the same thing. Odd thing now is that the TMT seems to be standalone, vs when it mounted an iso with Daemon I get the "within MCE" interface of TMT.

Also, my movie starts to try to play imediately in MB with the native file folder format, vs taking me to the next single large movie screen with the "play" button and the actors tab when I use isos.

I would of thought that if you are using spaces in your command line then you will need to enclose the line in speech marks ""

like so

Makes no difference on mine -- probably because within the config file the Command(line) is already delimited by the and tags...

I can't get the external player to work. When I click play, it says that it cannot find the specified file. This is using isos with Daemon lite. After this error, I can minimize VMC, and as soon as I open TMT (either the normal or MCE version), it will play immediately with no problems. Here's the code that I used:

Okay, so I've been playing around with the SVN source and made some of my own "personalizations" to MB. I really love this thing and also love that I can customize it.

I like the direction they've gone in the latest build but I don't really like the implementation of either the stock alternate detail scene or Throgmorton's customized ones. So, I've stuck with my own custom detail screen based off the original default but with full-color and full-page backdrop. Mine is nowhere near as fancy as Throg's but I kind of like the simplicity. To each his own.



I've moved stuff around a bit to leave more room for the backdrop and notice I've added the aspect ratio since that's an important attribute to me (being a CIH guy). I still want to play around with the look and position of the play button, though. It doesn't really look right with the cover art rotated. Also, to fit in with the direction they seem to be going, I made my detail screen an option in the config parameters.



In the thumbstrip view I've also gone to nearly full-color backdrop and moved stuff around to allow it to show through better. Also with aspect ratio.



Notice a couple of more things here too.

First, behind the scenes, I've made the posters sort by "SortTitle" instead of the actual title. I use MM to create my xml and it has a "SortTitle" field which is very handy. Note how "The Dark Knight" is sorting in the "B"s because its sort title is "Batman Begins II". That keeps the Batman movies together (even though I don't have the others ripped right now). Also I like to group all my music concert DVDs together so I give them a sort title that starts with "Music - " and then they all group together.

Second, I've put BluRay and HDDVD frames on pertinent titles. I know this got pretty bad feedback from the MB crowd but I like them because I can pick them out quickly in the array of posters. Plus, as you might have noticed in the config shot, I can turn it off if I wish in the future. It will determine if a title is BD or HDDVD from the metadata if its there (again MM puts this in there) or, if not, it will look at the folder structure and try and determine it.

Last, notice the hotkeys at the bottom. I've made it so that hitting 1, 2, or 3 on the remote will take you directly to one of three genres. This is configurable as well.



Now that I've got the hang of it, I'm playing around with some other stuff like displaying graphic representations of aspect ratio.

This is fun stuff .

Edit - I forgot I also implemented a translation for MPAARating. I don't have that tag in my xml because I used MM to create it and it creates a ParentalControl level instead. If there is no MPAARating tag, I read in this parental control tag (if it exists) and translate it to the MPAA Rating.

Your media type needs to be "Mkv" (case sensitive). BluRay is for a BD folder structure.

Note, that you will probably encounter an error once you get this working. It will say It couldn't find the content but then start the player anyway. In fact, if you don't get this error, I want to know how you did it...

Folder structure? As in it can't play a Blu-ray iso? If so, that explains why it's not working for me. I just switched from folder structure to isos--there's no way I'm going to switch back.

Are they planning on Blu-ray/HD DVD iso support? I would ask over there, but their forum won't let me register. Well, it lets me register, then won't send the activation e-mail no matter how many times it "resends" it.

Has anyone gotten the image: folder.jpg thing to work with vfs? I haven't and don't want to spend too much time fooling around with it if it doesn't work.

Yes, it works fine for me.

What are you using to mount the ISO? MB currently supports daemon tools. You set it up in the config and then you use your autoplay settings to start TMT when the ISO mounts. A bit inelegant but I hear it works (I don't have any ISOs).

Works for me too, but I seem to recall it didn't the first time I tried. I can't remember what I had to change to make it work...sorry.

Maybe be sure you have a full reference to the image file?

I switched from VCD to daemon tools just for Media Browser. The iso gets mounted. After the "cannot find file" message from Media Browser, I can minimze VMC, and as soon as I open TMT, the movie starts playing. Are there any autoplay settings other than TMT's?

Roark_8, also make sure you do not have the banner button ticked under MB's config menu. I only got my image to display for my virtual folder after I unticked the banner option, hope this will help.

For iso files to work in MB / TMT, I didnt have to adjust any config changes. Accept the default address in MB for Daemon tools lite, and it launched the BD movie and TMT flawlessly. its getting BD folder structure to work that I have issues with - although it sounds like its working now with the exception of the error it throws up even though the video is playing.
