Media Browser: Great alternative to DVD Library/My Movies/Movie Collector - Page 106

Getting frustrated with MB lately. It seems that when IA first open it, only my first folder shows posters (on the main screen). The others like TV, wont show anything and takes forever to load.

Well thats not that big of a deal. But my real problem is, I made a temp movies folder. For some reason it wont list any of the names of the movies in it. Shows no posters and when I select it, I just get a gray screen. On the top I see the media info of the last movie in the folder but when I press play I get an error.

Changed the name to new movies just trying different stuff but no go. I have 5 different categories in MB. So all those work just fine with multiple locations attached to each.

I included a screen to show whats going on.

EDIT, that location that the screen shows is not where I put the movies. Not sure why its showing that.

Yah Im sticking with it. Just hate when something is working fine. Then you go and upgrade and its all screwed up, so is the joy of an HTPC I suppose.

Did you guys upgrade to the latest release from Thunder Blade? I just did a few days ago and some of the bugs I encountered have gone away. I do agree though that things have been a little more buggy for me of late

For you guys that are having buggyness, are you using a different program to get metadata? I ask because I have that disabled in Media Browser and I let another program get the metadata. I have had no bugs at all so I'm wondering if the bugs people are seeing are with Media Browser itself getting metadata instead of using locally cached files from another program like MCM.

All the metadata is stored in the folders of my movies.

Make sure you have at least three movies in that temp folder. Can you show us a screen of how you have the folders setup in the configuration utility?

I'm getting this too. Upgraded to the latest version and it hasn't helped. Takes ages for my other folders to appear - I only have 2, one called movies which is a mapped network drive, the other called TV which is another mapped network drive on the same NAS (different hard disk).

Hey MediaBrowser fans! I released a new set of icons, "Xzener's (Non-3D) EHS Icon's". Go have a look and download a set.

What programs are you all using to gather and edit metadata for both TV and movies?

I already know of MetaBrowser, but wanted to see what other options are out there.

Yammm is one good alt, Media Center Maser is another good alt to meta

One reason might be because some of the new themes aren't using them.

I like your icons and have them mapped for use, but the themes are ignoring them with their new EHS. However, I like the new EHS of those themes. Catch-22?

I hated the new Vanilla 2.0 when it was first released and switched back to Diamond. Now the latest Vanilla is my theme of choice. Simplicity is interesting, but needs some more work before I can use it. Neither of those themes use your icons.

I am using your EHS backdrops.

When I play a movie file in MB the Windows taskbar appears over the bottom of the movie and has focus. The only way I know to get it to go away is to use the mouse to click back to MB.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a known issue?

I am running the latest official release and Win7 x64.

Loaded in a Xonar this week (needed analog out in the near future) and am very happy with it, but I can't get the ASUS Xonar to load as an external player from MB. I have pointed it at UDTStart.exe as recommended, but whenever I go to load a BD it crashes Media Browser.

Any suggestions?

System is:

-DG45ID w/Q6600 w/4GB DDR2 SDRAM
-Windows 7 64 Ultimate
-ASUS Xonar using ASUS TMT3 w/SIM HD
-Radeon 5770
-Intel 40GB SSD

Media Files are stored on a 3TB (and climbing) external RAID5 enclosure. I would think this could be causing the problem, but when I was using the retail version, it worked fine.

Any config advice?

You're using an external player...?

Is there a good write up explaining how to get started? I have Vista with WMC and I'm ripping using DVDfab to create VIDEO_TS files.
