problems with hard drive noise most likely from the hard drive cages rattling?

Just got my system installed in the LC13 last night and I'm disappointed with the amount of noise I'm getting from my WD raptor. Albiet, I switched from a Antec p182 and those things are darn near silent so my noise sensitivity is going to be high.

But just was curious if anybody else was experiencing this.

Try using pieces of thin rubber in creavaces to dampen the noise. I cut up an old inner-tube for my noisy case, works like a charm. Although cases should come with such gromits to reduce noice.

I always thought Raptors and noise just went together. For that reason, I have kept them out of my living room HTPC's, where to be honest, they're high-priced overkill for delivering video and audio media. I do have a couple in my gaming machine in another room and they are pretty loud when revved-up. It would be easy to mount them with those gel strip isolation pads that you can find out there.

yeah I got the raptor for free so I thought I'd use it for an OS drive. It's not the typically revving that gets me either...that's hardly noticable from what I can tell...I guess it's actually the side effects of the high rpm's or idk maybe it is the actual drive. Either way I'm going to try to find the gel strips and maybe try to use the silicon grommets from my p182 in some fashion.

I'm not sure if either will work because the drive cages are packed in there pretty good but we'll see I guess.

Thanks.
