I agree with the general sentiment; it seems like an obvious win/win to have Moxi employees interacting regularly with their customer about their products. It's good MoxiGuy shows up here occasionally, but it should be more often. Ideally, Moxi should be running their own forum.
I understand the reality of the development process is that they're not likely to release a list of features and bugfixes in advance of the actual software release, but it would be nice to at least get reassurance that someone at Moxi understands the issues and is committed to seeing them through to some sort of resolution.
Maybe we should put together a list of bugs and feature requests, although that would be a lot easier if we had a dedicated Moxi forum instead of this one thread.
I have to say, I'm definitely coming around because I haven't had any major functional problems; for the most part everything works. My main complaint is the poor remote response but I'm worried that is a hardware problem that isn't going to get fixed. The UI being sluggish and inconsistent to navigate is problem #2, which is made worse by problem #1 (leaving you wondering "did it miss my keystroke or is it just being slow?"). Watching my wife using the box with no prompting reinforced my thoughts about the usability, I think there are a small number of changes that would make it much less confusing. Here's one simple example:
Navigating "Recorded Programs", whether you have to hit "OK" or "right arrow" depends on whether you have one or multiple episodes of a show recorded. If you mix them up, in the first case you get booted to "search", and if you go back to "recorded programs" you've lost your place in the list. In the latter case, if you hit "OK" by mistake, you can't get to the list of programs from that screen ("right arrow" here inexplicably goes back, as it does in many other places). The absolute worst, though, is that the context of right arrow changes with no input from the user
- it depends on whether you've waited the second or so it takes the Moxi to load the list of episodes. Do it too early - sorry, off to "search", lose your place.
