I used to use SageTV software DVR, and unfortunately that too has gone away (although intentionally).
I have found some used Moxi hardware on eBay... would you still recommend buying this platform? Or is there something else out there similar?
If you have the technical ability, my second DVR is a Windows Media Center system. I expect it will eventually replace the Moxi. There is no monthly charge for the guide service.
I ended up spending about $650 on a mother board, processor, case, memory, storage (6tb RAID 5) and a Ceton 4 tuner PCI card. I had an existing Win 7 license.
I just bought a "kit" for my son as a Christmas gift for $320, motherboard w/processor, case, memory, Silicon Dust 3 tuner Ethernet (on sale $99), going to give him a 2tb spare drive I have.
