I am using Sony BRAVIA KDL-46Z4100 as my extended desktop. I connected it to my laptop using the HDMI connection. Here is the problem: I set the resolution to 1920 x 1080, which is the native resolution. My refresh rate is 60Hz. Everything is working fine except the media player. When I stream video from the web using media player, the stream stutters and becomes choppy. The problem is that I am a member of one of the Internet video streaming services, which uses a license for media player to view content. Therefore, I can't use any other alternative players to stream the content.
By the way, I used other players such as KM player to watch offline .avi files. Videos look perfect. It looks to me like there is something wrong with the media player settings.
One solution to this problem is to reduce the resolution. If I make the resolution 1280 x 1024, the streaming video looks fine. This time, the video size is small, which defeats the purpose of having the extended display.
Is there anything I am missing? How can I stream the web content using 1920x1080 resolution without any stutter? Any help is greatly appreciated...
