So I know that there is about 4 threads regarding this issue and I have read all of your responses, but I still haven't gotten an answer that I'm necessarily looking for.
Where I work we have special factory direct pricing on Panasonic sets. After reading the forum rules I am going to try to avoid typing out the "Price" that I can get Panny sets for. The issue I have is that I am the type of guy who doesn't mind spending a little extra to get something that is better, but I'm having a hard time convincing myself with this Pioneer Kuro non - elite and even moreso the Elite.
I just got married and luckily my fiance loves video and a nice TV set as much as me. We both agree that we both would love to own the Elite, but the price is a little too steep at this moment. I know the history of Elite and how amazing it is (I ran a tweeter for over 5 years, well United Audio than tweeter). At an authorized retailer it sure seems expensive still. We need to buy 2 TV's also. One for the Bedroom and One for the main room. We sit about 9 ft away from the TV in the main room and bedroom about the same. My question is this....
Would you:
A: Buy a TH-58PZ800u or 850U for right around $2500 shipped
B: Buy the Pioneer online at an authorized retailer for about the same price?
My main uses are Video games. I work about 60 hours a week and when I come home I don't generally come home and watch too much TV unless it is with the wife.
My feelings on it currently are:
A: Bigger TV more of a theater feeling with the 58 inch TV and probably amazing with 360, PS3, and Wii.
B: Superior picture, smaller, same price. Also amazing with video games.
We plan on buying a home in a year or so, so odds are we'll be buying another TV so something the wife mentioned was maybe get the Pioneer now (because shes in love with the picture) and getting a 60 Inch Kuro a year from now since we'll save up for it.

PS i'll have to post my pictures of my visit to Pioneer's Production lab where I got to see how they make the panels. Was an awesome trip that Tweeter sent me on 3 years back

However watch yourself as that pricing is low, looks like a scam.
