My XBR1 Has An Obnoxious Red Tint

Earlier today, my Sony XBR1 LCD started acting screwy. Upon turning on the TV, the entire screen has a reddish tint to it, rendering it unusable, particularly for anything that has a lot of dark colors in it. The weird thing is that there's a small portion of the screen (like, a 1/2-inch diameter) that's displaying colors accurately. I'm really not sure what could be causing this, but this strikes me as something that'll be impractically expensive to bother repairing.

So, any ideas on what could be causing this malfunction?

Yeah, it's messed up via every input. Even the black screen when there's nothing being used on the TV is messed up.
