BluRay hardware player outputs @24 or @23. 976?

Does BluRay hardware player outputs @24 or @23. 976 if the source is 1080p@23,976?

And if Pioneer Kuro reports the support of 24, does it mean the support of 24 or 23.976?

Does anybody know?
Thank you.

They are one in the same. 23.976 is just rounded to 24 to make things easier on the consumer.

Actually, true 24 fps video is different from 23.976 fps (aka 24 × 1000/1001) video, but 23.976 is used for BD.
(Although people generally round to 24 and only specify the difference when necessary)

Apparently, there are some Sony players that output (an incorrect) true 24p, which tends to trip up certain outboard VPs.

There is no need to convert 23.976 fps on the disc, for NTSC display 59.94Hz compatibility, to 24.0 fps output. The Blu-ray Disc spec actually allows BOTH 24p and 23.976p HD video streams. Presumably BD players should support both and output what is on the disc without frame-rate conversion and likewise for HD displays nowadays to support both.
