I'm thinking of getting the Pioneer DV-410V DVD player since it seems to be considered to be the best in the under $100 class (please correct me if I'm wrong on this). However, I just have a quick question about whether this player has a limit of how many files it can read/show/play, etc from a USB stick? For example, the Philips DVP5990 says in its manual that it supports a max of 648 files and 300 folders on the usb stick. I can't find anything like that in the Pioneer manual, but that doesn't mean that there isn't a limit. The reason why I'm hoping for no limit is cause I would like to use the USB interface to play a slideshow of all my pictures when I'm not watching a movie, however, my picture count is into the thousands.

The other question I have is about how this DVD player handles JPG slideshows. Does it do any transitions or anything else that would make my TV look like a nice giant picture frame that shows pictures. Is there any setting for how often the pictures change, etc.? If the default firmware doesn't, do any of the hacked firmwares allow this?

Thanks,
Harry
