Nvidia Control Panel - Custom Resolutions - 1:1 Pixel Mapping

I just built a new HTPC using a Geforce 9300 motherboard and 32-bit Vista. I have loaded the latest Nvidia drivers from Nvidia's web site. With my previous HTPC using XP Pro and a Geforce 6200 video card I could go in to the Nvidia control panel and adjust the custom resolution to 1360 x 768. My projector's native panel resolution is 1366 x 768. With this resolution the display would snap right in and I would get 1:1 pixel mapping. With my new setup I can enter the same infomation and click OK to test the resolution. Sure enough the resolution snaps right in and I have 1:1 pixel mapping while the resultig window counts down 15 seconds. It asks whether I want to keep the resolution or in 15 seconds it will revert back to the previous setting. I click OK to keep it but then the custom resolution disappears and the 1:1 pixel mapping is gone! It more less reverts back to 1024 x 768. The 1360 x 768 resolution is then clearly displayed in my list of custom resolutions but I can't really enable outside of the 15 second test window. Has anyone seen this behavior before? Can anyone offer a potential workaround or solution outside of purchasing powerstrip?

The custom resolution tool is not very intuitive. Once you have created it you then need to go to the change resolution screen and you should be able to move the slider over and select 1360X768 now.

Thanks. I did check that and it still reflected a maximum of 1024 x 768 and I couldn't slide to the right any more. I started approaching it from a different angle and figured out the issue. The driver it chose to use for my display was the standard monitor.inf. It clearly recognized that it was connected to a projector since it displayed Sanyo PLV-70 but once I looked at all the modes found for that monitor driver it had everything locked down anything above 1024 x 768. Once I checked off that the monitor should use ALL resolutions it already one listed for 1360 x 768. I tried it via display properties and voila' it locked right in! Thanks again.
