Can Anyone Help Me With MY Panasonic DMR-T3040?

Thread Starter
The problem I'm experiencing with my Panasonic DMR-T3040 recorder is the aspect ratio when I burn a DVD.

I want my recorder to record my programs in 720 X 480. HOWEVER when I record the programs on LP speed and EP speed I get other types of aspect ratios. When I record on LP speed the aspect ratio is 352 X 480 and when I record on EP speed the aspect ratio is 352 X 240.

I thought this problem would be solved if I changed the Hybrid VBR Resolution from Automatic to Fixed but when I do that the aspect ratio results are the same. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For those unfamiliar with this poster's Panasonic here is a February 2003 review:

I hope that someone familiar with this model will come forward with the sought-after information.

Never heard of that one before. Sounds like it's basically a industrial version of the old HS2 Panny. I found this one thread in the archives.

AFAIK the older Pannys like this one dropped the resolution on speeds above SP. I think Kelson knows the specifics but I didn't think it was as drastic as 352 X 480 in LP, but then again this is one of the first Pannys.
