How do I pick a wall mount?

Happy Holidays,

I am interested in a 52" Samsung model 860 LCD television (LN52A860).

How does a person go about picking a wall mount?

I'm going to be mounting it above a gas fireplace (direct vent with a fan - with a large mantel separating the tv from the fireplace so no heat issues).

Since it will be above the fireplace, I think I would like to get an articulating mount so I can tilt as well as turn.

I am constructing this myself so am thinking of recessing the mount so I can have the tv flush against the wall.

How do I go about choosing a wall mount manufacturer? There are a bunch of companies which make them - and for huge price differences.

I've seen some companies charge $600 and up for an articulating mount. Is it necessary to spend so much?

I've heard a little bit about Monoprice. Their prices seem really inexpensive. Are their products reliable?

Anyone have a "choosing a wall mount for dummies" guide or something?

Thank you very much...

i got mine from monoprice.com

all i had to do was choose color, features like tilt and swivel and then weight and size range since it was vesa.

so basically find your tvs VESA size, mine was 200mm x 200mm and the mount i got was from 100mm x 100mm to 750mm and etc... so it fit.
