HDC-SD9 and filters

Being new to this and I just started to think about protecting the lense and was wondering if a UV filter would be the best for this. I have the standard lense still in the camera.

Which UV filter is the best for this?
Ones to stay away from?

Any readme's or FAQ links would help too..I'm not against reading if I can find it.

OK, let just ignore the type of camera...Anyone have any thoughts on filters?

considering that global warming is melting our ozone away, a UV filter would be nice, I think it's a 37mm diameter for the sd 9

Any suggestions on brands to go with or stay away from?
