Digital SACD output from Denon DVD-1940 to my Denon AVR-4306

Hi experts,

I'm very new to this forum, and need a solution for my problem.

My Yamaha DVD 1500 suddenly stopped reading SACD discs (analog connected to my Yamaha RX-1500), and therefore I ended up putting the Yamaha set to the office, and bought a Denon AVR-4306 and a Denon DVD-1940.

Now i realize that the DVD-1940 can't or won't sent the SACD signal out through any of the digital connections it has

Can this be fixed with a new firmware, as this surely is ridiculous, or do i need to purchase a new player?

I can say with much certainty that Denon won't update the player with that capability, so you must shop for a new player if this feature is important to you.

Keep in mind that the AVR-4306 will only accept DSD signals over Denon Link, but it will accept high-resolution stereo and multichannel PCM from players that convert DSD to PCM for HDMI output.
