Vandersteen Model 2 wiring suggestions

I have a pair of Vandersteen Model 2 speakers (not 2ce) and the previous owner had them bi-wired using Audioquest Type 4 cables that I also got from him.

I have the option to bi-amp the Vandersteens with my Onkyo 605 or should I bi-wire them as it seems was the norm back when they came out.

So my question is what does avsforum recommend? I have read some on the pros and cons of bi-wiring versus bi-amping but still need a recommendation.

Thanks in advance for any and all help that I can get.

I would biwire them with the cables you have. I don't think biamp will help you without two seperate amplifiers. You still only have one power supply to work with.

You really need to have read the various threads that deal with this subject as if you did then you would be well aware that this is a subject that is guaranteed to start a very disruptive thread. Also once you really read those posts, you will have your answer. Some of us think bi-wiring is bogus without and verifiable data to support it and some of us believe it makes a difference because their ears tell them so. Also, bi-amping the way you suggest is also very much debated. Some think its bogus some think it makes a difference. Did you expect anything else?????

Try it.

I have Vandersteen speakers and I used a piece of wire to jump the posts and use a single wire. Sounds great.

Thats all you needed to say from the start.

Thanks for wasting my time with the rest of that reply.

Go to the Vandersteen web site, http//www.vanderstten.com, and see what Richard has to say on the subject. I have 2CE Sig II, and I use Goertz Alpha Core to biwire. I replaced the same cables you now use with the Goertz. A huge improvement.

Your welcome. And thanks for wasting our time with your lazy post. Next time use the search function and perhaps you might acutally learn something on your own.

You have noticed that you have received next to no replies, right? Wonder why...
