I have a TV on a mantle above a fireplace. Every time I want to use my remote I have to hold the remote up for the infrared signal to clear the front of the mantle.
A salesperson at a local big box electronics store said that a common trick to overcome this is to get a small telescope and place it on the mantle then focus the small lens on the IR eye of the TV and let the big lens gather the light from the remote.
Has anyone ever tried this and would anybody know of any other simple tricks to transfer the IR beam to the TV?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Yeto
