DirectHDTV Receiver Keeps shutting itself off

My receiver shuts off from time to time. When I press the reset button, it goes on for 10mins and sometime 3 hrs then it shuts off again. The signal strength is 96 average across the board. I have another receiver in the house hooked up to the same dish with no problem.

-It could be the card or receiver. I really think its the receiver. Any suggestions? DirectTV says they have to send someone here for $50 service charge just to tell me that it's the receiver. I have to spend $100 for a new one anyway. I had this receiver for 2yrs already.

Sounds to me like a Direct TV receiver. It also sounds like one that has over heated and shuts itself on and off. That was not uncommon a couple of years ago with some *D receivers. If that is the case you will have to send it in and have them send you a replacement receiver. No fix that I know off.

Yep sounds like it is overheating. If you have it in an enclosed space try moving it out into the open. If it still happens it will probably need to be replaced.

You shouldn't have to pay anything for a new receiver, it is a leased unit and it should be replaced for free.

If this is a H20-600 theres a recall on them, call D* for a free replacement.
