Has anyone had issues accepting a "deep color" signal to the 7500UB? I have mine connected to a processor which I know is outputting deep color but it is not being picked up by the projector. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Has anyone had an issue with the projector not supporting the 1080 output from a playstation 3?
I have the playstation connected by HDMI to a Pioneer 1019 reciever (and output in HDMI), and when I turn it on...theres no picture and it says HDMI Not Supported H-----/V----- ....HOWEVER if I switch my projector input (say to component then back to HDMI) the picture shows and everything works!

Ive also tried straight connecting the HDMI from PS3 to the Epson...same thing happens.

I hope I dont have to switch my input from component to HDMI every time I use the PS3 (This also happens if I quit a PS3 game or Bluray movie).

Please help!

Hi

I am considering buying the TW5000 (or 7500UB in US). From what I have read so far about its performance there are contradicting opinions while it seems that there are (or were) numereous problems with it.
Other projectors I am considering are the Sony VPL-HW15 and Sanyo Z3000.
From these 3 and if you have a personal opinion what do you think, which is the "best"?

I bought an Epson 6500UB about 9 months ago (basically the same as the 7500UB), and I have been very happy with its performance. I cannot give you and comparison information with the others you mentioned. I think Projector Reviews has done several comparison tests of 1080p projectors in the price range of the 6500UB.

Hi! I have a question for epson 7500UB/TW5000 users!! Why Frame Interpolation mode don't working (option grey out) when i'm watching Blu-ray?? How can i turn this option ON (watching Blu-Ray movies) ??

You have to turn 4:4 pulldown off first, then you can turn FI on.

botzos is too close to bozo for me.
Your on the Epson 7500ub thread, everyone here pretty much owns the 7500ub. For the money it's IMHO about as good as it gets. As for the other projectors your interested in, it's your responsibility to decide what's right for you. This is the 7500 camp.
Confirmation on the Sony or Sanyo probably won't come from this thread. Good luck with your search.

Just thought I would share this info, in case anyone is having similar issues. Projector is on a shelf I built, open in the front and back. Screen is a 120" Elite-something.

#1) Defocus issue, loud auto iris.
#2) Red bar on top
#3) Blue bar on bottom
#4) Red bar on top - still have this unit...need to call for replacement.

The bar develops, it seems around the 400hr mark on the lamp. Starts as a faint red line, about 10 pixels high, across the length of the picture. The bar seems to keep growing in height over time, until I get annoyed enough to call in for a replacement. I'm not sure if its a lamp or panel issue.

Has anyone got any settings for a Gray grey screen. I have been using this with a white screen, I take it all the settings will need to change or will i be ok with just the brightness and contrast changing. Thanks

I'm having the same issues and on my 3rd projector. I've had it for 2 weeks and the red line popped right up. Wonder if they sent me my 1st projector back after the replacement they sent was faulty when i opened the box. Love the projector despite a couple issues here or there... The red line issue is starting to grow old.

Has anyone had this multiple times and is there a better solution than continuing to replace them?

I have the same issue , the pinkish line is about 5" wide an a 120" screen . New lamp didn't help . No other issues , hung the projector with the bracket that came with it , turned the projector on and it's been running 16 hrs. a day for a 1 1/2 years .

Hi Guys -

Question for the pros. I am a 7500UB owner. Owned it for about a year.

I've clocked 2000 hours on it.

I'm seeing some very obvious signs of the picture dimming to the point where I'm questioning the life left. Can someone tell me when they are generally replacing the bulbs/lamps on these guys? I thought I saw it spec'd at 4000 hours on on projectorcentral.com.

Can anyone provide some guidance here on their experience and if I should be nearing the point where I need to put in a new bulb?

Can anyone help with the above question who has experience with the Epson 6500/7500 line?

Basically I want to know if my issue above is likely the lamp going south or if it's another setting on my projector?

I generally use cinema night in my room. I have a spare bulb that I can try installing, but want to rule out anything else first.

I don't remember reading anything about dimness on 6500s/7500s from anything other than bulbs. Since you already have a spare bulb, I recommend that you at least try it and make a comparison.

I have been sent 3 bad replacement 7500UB projectors from Epson. They are all refurbs, and Epson has ran out of new stock.

My 3rd replacement projector (which is faulty too). Its a 7500UB but seems to have the menu of the 6500UB. It has (LivingRoom) listed instead of (CinemaDay)

Firmware version: 1500316477WWV212

Listed in menu as seen below:

P 1500316477WWV212
R 98S008
0 ----
J 82A2WWV101

It also says 9 hours on the operation time. The user menu still says 0...

Hi,

I want to update my Epson 7500UB firmware, because of defocus issue. As far as i know it will solve this problem.

What kind of cable should i use for connect the projector with my pc?
I know RS232 cable needed. But i had a newer pc (Core I7 870, Asus SLI motherboard) and i dont have RS232 connector.

Would be RS232 - USB cable good for this firmware update?

I have the UK version of the 7500 (EH-TW5800) with a few thousand hours on it, and recently I've noticed an area of greenish yellow discolouration at the bottom left edge of the picture.

I had to change the lamp a few weeks ago and that didn't affect this problem. The discolouration affects the left quarter of the bottom edge - it is quite indistinct, and is darkest at the edge of the image, quickly fading out away from the edge. The area is too big to be a dust blob I think.

Does anyone know what's causing this and how to fix it?

Don't know if I'll get much response here as this is an aging projector. But I recently moved into a house with one of these bad boys preinstalled in the media room (only has 600 hours on the lamp). I'm seeing what others have described as the defocus issue (picture looks great for first hour or so of watching- then a little blurry after that). I haven't seen an actual guide or procedure to upgrade fw on this thing which may fix the issue. Does one exist? I'm fairly tech savvy and would like to give it a go if there are good directions. Or would happily accept any tips or config to help the the defocus issue. Thanks!
