Thanks Juliojs for getting back to us So I guess it will take more than just replacing the background picture in /osd/image folder. On the other hand the whole background is almost fully occupied by movie thumbnails, so should I even worry about it

Keep up good work !!!

Wonderful. Can you share them (both webserever.app and php files) somewhere?

Hi Juliojs,

Is there any way to get your latest mod working without having to have the pen drive always connected? maybe a feature for your next version.

Muchas gracias por tus esfuerzos

juliojs, thank you! This is exactly what I've been looking for! Great work.

Thank you again for putting time into this for us.

Hi guys,

I need help. I followed this guide: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...6#post16143566 but when i open the Default LAN folder i see nothing. ( i dont see my computer in there ).

The only thing i did different then the guide is that since i only have one Administrator account, i associated that one to 'root' (instead of Compaq_owner<->root). I have a password with my admin account.

Anyone got tips? I'm on TinyXP having no (software) firewall activated for the moment.

It'd be nice not to have one USB port taken just to run the interface. Great job Juliojs!!

I just have to give a big THANK YOU to Juliosjs!! I love your mod. I do like the version that supports thumbs at 5/2 better though.

I have been trying with very little success to get the osdMod v0.4.0.5 beta mod to display movie info working. Some of my thumbs will work correcty and most would not. So I went back to the osd v0.21 mod which I just love.

I did run across another mod that gives movie info in easy fashion:

http://wdtvforum.com/main/index.php?...9&topic=1039.0

This mod combined with Movie GUI Builder is really nice!! It really makes the WDTV media player come to life!

Now if I could just get Juliosjs' osd v0.21 mod to work with LaurentG's mod, I would be good to go!!!!

If you want to convert flac to ac3, I would use the program eac3to (I use the command line but there are GUI's available). You can also use it to convert to DTS, but you need SurCode DVD DTS (v 1.0.21 or newer - commercial software) for it to work.

@juliojs

Just a suggestion. Remove these transition lines. It would look so much better without them.

Other than that, the place where the the horizontal and vertical layers cross is too dark ( multiply? ). Stands out a bit. I have touched brightness up a bit for you to see.

Other than that, maybe someone'll like to try this:

I made a theme for thumbnail mode which shows 3 thumbs per screen
jpgs are automatically scaled to 295x444, no need to downsize movie posters

altered files:
Code:
basic_browse_thumb_video.xml
inc_video_thumb_browse.xml
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=1...4e75f6e8ebb871

just put the 3thumbs_theme.app.bin on your boot device

Not sure if it is known, but the Linksys USB300M seems to work without issues. Just pluged it in with the WD loaded with WDLXTV firmware and the Samba app pack. Created an NFS share to my Windows Home Server that has the Unix services installed and was able to stream 1080p mkv files without issue. Nice job and the hacks guys! Was about to sell my WDTV and buy a second popcorn hour, now I dont have to. No more going back and forth with an external hard drive!

Can you assist me with the NFS? I can't get my pc to appear in the Default LAN. Did you get any trouble similar?

My server does not show in the Default Lan, yet it still works. My NSF services were disabled after the install, so I had to manually re-enable them and then start them. Then I mapped the user/group accounts. I shared out a folder and telneted into my WDTV to test the xmount commands and it just worked. Also verify your firewall ports (if your server hosting the files has one) are allowing traffic fro the WD to your server.

I followed pretty much everything in this post, except the firmware used part: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...php?p=16143566

Wish I could be more help, but I'm a windows guy and know very little unix/linux.

I dont understand this part:
Quote:

net.mounts example for above config

#
# Example net.mounts file to demonstrate auto-mounting
# of network shares

# Mount a NFS share

xmount 192.168.1.2:/Music Music nfs

# Notice that we no longer need to modprobe, nor create the directory.
# That is handled for us by xmount.

# Also note that if you store a net.mounts file in /conf/ then it will ALSO
# execute on startup.

Where do i type this?

Open the net.mounts file with wordpad. There you will see the examples that are in that post. You just add a line to map to your share. Say your server ip is 10.1.1.1 and you created an NSF share named Movies on it, you would add the line: xmount 10.1.1.1:/Movies Movies nfs to that file. Any line in that file with # symbol is ignored, so dont add one to your line. Save it on your USB drive and when you go into your Video Folders on your WDTV, you should now see a link to upir share, Movies.

Hi Guys, I'm seeking help for my problem:

1) I'm using B-Rad WDLXTV 0.5.3.2 + Samba
2) I can see Windows shares via CIF on my PC and play 720p perfectly. 1080p plays well for some minutes, the start to jump
3) I bought a NAS (IcyBox IB-NAS4210-B), disk if formatted in ext2
4) I cas see Windows shares via CIF on the NAS, and play 720p well, as on my PC
5) I set-up NFS share on the same directory on the NAS and mounted without problems on the WDTV
6) I can see the NFS share (and files into it), from the WDTV, but all files play very bad. Even files with low resolution (640x480) plays for 5/6 seconds, than hangs, then play again for some second, then hangs, and so on.

NFS should be faster than CIF, not slower !! I've done some search on Internet, WD forums, but nobody seems to have this situation/problem; some people set up NFS shares, and then cannot see it, or see files inside it... but my problem is different...

What can it be ???
Please help
Thank you !!

Hi m8,
I have a DIR-655 router and a DWA-140 to my WDHD TV.
My questions is now:
Witch files goes where i have now in my ROOT on my USB HDD: net.config, wpa_supplicant.conf, wireless-mod-wdlxtv.app.bin, opt.bin, i also use 1.02.07_B-RAD.CC_WDLXTV-0.5.3.2

But nothing wants to work, can you help me out here please?.

How can WD HD TV find the Fw to the DWA-140, dont they need the driver to work?

Looking forward for your answer

But, i got a problem. I get the "reading from usb" message running forever, and i tried to eject the usb and it trying to eject forever...

Oh oh.. now i lost some icons picture... and also, when i go to video->folder, the wdtv freeze.. i'm screwed..

Edit: Even more screwed now.. it doesnt even boot up (doesnt get past the splash screen).

Is there a way to fully reset this to factory settings?

Edit2: Now my wdtv doesn't detect any drives anymore

Edit3: Flashed with B-RAD and it works~!!!!!! Best day of my life!
When i change shares, can i just edit the mount file or do i need to reflash? I just changed my shares, but the wdtv still shows the old share.. looks like it's hard stored in the marchine.

I managed to get the folder refreshed by doing a system reset.

Only problem i have now is that 1080p aren't playing smoothly and are really lagging (1080p w/ ac3 audio).
