TViX M-4000 - Error message "this file is not supported"

Hi all,

I have run into a strange problem with my M4000P which I have been as yet unable to solve... "hoping" someone else has seen this issue and can help.

I transferred some files to the hard disk the other as I have done hundreds of time before, and did nothing out of the ordinary. When I tried to play the files (standard divx .avi), an error pops up saying that the file is unsupported. I dismiss the error message, and try to replay it again immediately, and the file plays without issues.

This happens with every avi I have on the box

I use the icon.tvix file to show folder pictures of the DVDs that I have stored on the box, and at the same time as the above issue I have noticed that when I navigate through the folders, initially the folder icons do not pop up. When I go into the folders, then back out of them, the folders suddenly appear.... I hope I am explaing this well enough!...

So, I have tried a few things to resolve it... but nothing has worked so far...

- The 500GB drive was pretty full (about 80 Gig left) so I removed some stuff
- I removed the files that I had just put on the box
- I have scanned for viruses, and performed an error check (which took hours!)
- I have downgraded the OS version to 2.2.5 and 2.2.0 from 2.2.7 which is the latest, and change the regional software version from PAL to NTSC.
- I have changed settings in the OS for the viewing options

All of these are to no avail.... Please help!

Incase anyone ever has the same problem and stumbles across this post let me update...

I was about to go through the RMA process with KJ Global, and removed all the files from the hard disk. I then formatted the drive before packaging it up, but thought I would give it one last go with a single file on a newly formatted disk.

Long story short this appears to have resolved the problems I was having. Obviously the issue here is having enough disk space elsewhere (all PCs, external drives are now rammed full of data ) but luckily I just about managed it. Am now in the process of buying a new server to store all data and samba share it from there as required.

Cheers.

Good to know, I was just wondering the other day how I would know when my internal HD was full on my 4000. Thanks.
