I did and they are fantastic. Absolutely love them and could not be happier. The sound is great, finish is amazing.
Glad I went with the 55 instead of the 5's. I like the extra height on them.
I bought the E55s and I love them. But did anyone hear about the woofer update they are doing? I read it in the $1000 Loudspeaker faceoff over on audioholics. Anyone have any info on this?

I read In Audioholic's comparison review that they will be available in about a month's time. Not sure if they're offering to retro fit models that are already in customer's hands.

Hehe prob not gonna retofit past purchasers without a surcharge..... They have to up the anny to keep people buying
Not knocking EMP/Dest. Aud./RBH, just being realistic. I personally have a lot of their products and I'm thrilled with them. But they didn't retrofit my ef30s with the polygraphite woofers after they left the kevlar versions. I probably would not have noticed the difference anyways because they sound AWESOME!!!
A few months ago I shared that I decided on 3 EMP EW-35s for my front stage. I finally had a chance to ditch the Entertainment center and get everything mounted on/in the walls.
My next task is to cleanup the audio rack with faceplates.
Hey everyone. I am still trying to figure out what is the best speaker for me and as much as I believe in hearing everything it's not always possible.
So what does everyone think of EMP for music listening. I would be looking at the E5TiB being used 100% for music. What did you listen to before EMP? I am also looking at Aperion and PSB. Thank you for your time.
I was ready to pull the trigger on the e55ti's and come to find out that they're not real wood veneers. They are manufactured veneers then stained.. Guess I was misinformed when I first asked about these speakers. They're are still nice speakers but that kind of is a deal breaker for me.. Not sure if I will still get these or not. What do you guys think?

mine sound great and look great and price is very reasonable....
Wow the last post in this forum was July, are you guys diasppointed with your E55Ti's.
I sure hope not because I have just bought a pair along with the E5ci for center use.
For you guys that have had your for a while, please chime in and let me know your thoughts. I have another week to go before mine get shipped to me in the Caribbean. Just wanted to hear what other owners think about these.
Also would like to get back some life in this thread.

i really like mine, i have the same center and 4 of the bookshelf speakers for surrounds, sound is excellent. my only problem is that they are really to tall for my HT. their fine for listening to music or watching the plasma, but when I drop the screen the left speaker is covered for almost a third of it's height. I wish someone in Utah that has a pair of e5Ti's would want to trade up to the 55's. I would trade my 55's for the shorter 5's and $200, it would be a great deal for someone who bought the 5's at $400 and still a very good deal for someone who paid $500 as the 55's are at $800.....

That is a pity, to have gotten such good speakers and having difficulty. ay I ask what speakers you had before and how does the E55Ti's compare to them? I would like to have an idea of the good and the bad that you guys hear in these speakers.

How would you guys compare your E5Ti & E55Ti, to the Paradigms. Are they in the same league as the Studios or more like the Monitor series?

before i had eD w6-6tc's stand monitors, i like the towers better, but for a 2 driver speaker the w6's were amazing, the 55's have 6 drivers and just have more presence and better imagining

That comforting to hear, as I was very worried that I had made a mistake when I sold my Paridigm Phantoms and bought the E55Ti's. I have never bought speakers without hearing them before and you always seem to be second guessing yourself.
I did buys mys SVS sub without listening but I was assured that they are top notch. I guess it is easier to rate a sub as being good vs towers.
Based on how your 55's sound would you say that the are worth twice the price and if you had tro do it over a gain would you still have replaced the W6-6Tc with the 55's.
What about the others members who have bought the E55ti or E5Ti, how do you guys rate your towers.

2x as much as ????
some speakers would qualify but a lot would have to do with preferences. I like the 55's better then my klipsch rf-7 which i paid over 2k for. the klipsch's were too bright and were fatiguing. Yes I would sell the w6's again for the 55's
I am really looking forward to my E55. I may not have mentioned but my HT/Music room is treated with acoustic panels, there are very minimal reflection in there. I am sure that this will aid in how the EMP's perform.
when i talked to customer service late July they were not sure if the new drivers were going to be available at all
That is a bummer, for I was under the impression that this was already done. But to be honest it really does not matter that much to me as the SVS sub will handle all my low frequency needs.
The driver updates have been done and I am reviewing a pair right now.
I spent yesterday afternoon comparing the old vs new E55s side by side and level matched. The difference is subtle at best. I was actually expecting a more dramatic difference. EMP told me they didn't want to retune the speakers since they felt most people would be using a powered sub anyways.
The new E55s have slightly more bass volume in the upper 40-50Hz but the old E55s were a bit tighter. Neither will shake a room like a Klipsch tower of similar price but instead they are very tonally neutral and have a very nice expansive soundstage. They also have very good midbass punch and play down low enough to seamlessly blend with a sub which I will discuss in the review.

Stay tuned...
I eagerly await your review. What would be good is if the other guys could give a brief review of the E55 and see how close they are to what you will say. That would be interesting to see how different people perceive sound from these speakers.
Ok Guys, I have had my E55's for about a week now and I must say that the speakers are absolutely gorgeous; they are not real wood but are a beauty to look at.
However I think I am having a bit of trouble with the placement. Before I go any further let me say that my room is almost 12x12, but has been treated with GIK panels.
My seating position is 8ft 6 away from the mains and same for the center channel. I have tried placing the main speakers 10,9,8,7 feet apart in an effort get them sounding the best in stereo-my preferred listening format.
I now have them at 6ft 7inches apart and I think they sound Ok, but still not what I expected. I will attempt to describe what I am hearing. The sound is recessed, it sounds as if the voice is at the speakers instead of coming out or forward and enveloping the listener, which my other speakers had done. I have toed them in and out in an attempt to get it right, but no success.
As per a previous suggestion, I removed all the room treatment and replace them piece by piece to see if that helps, it doesn't.
I have hesitated to write this as I did not want to give these speakers a negative feedback, as there are members that are quite impressed with them, but I need help. Perhaps this is how they are to sound, if so I am not impressed.
Or it is more likely that I am not doing something right. I thought that they might be lacking power, so I bridged two of my behringer A500 and am playing them separately, with each bridged amp. This increased the loudness but nothing else. Just in case you are asking I have levelled them with my sound level meter.
I am no expert on audio, but I know what I want to hear, and I am not there. Thus I am seeking you guys input/suggestions on what to try. Any and all suggestions welcomed
