I won't be ordering the sub as my epik valor is a much better sub most likely. I've not ordered the center and bookshelves yet.

measurements for these aggresively priced beauties, anyone?

at least we know the Primus series are smooth on and off axis.
i would love to hear the comparison between the 362's and the emp's. i'm basically on the fence between the two

I'm afraid I don't have the equipment or the knowledge to properly measure them. Best shot is to hope audioholics gets their review out sooner than later.

I will say that running yamaha's ypao EQ evened them out a good amount. I was actually surprised it made a difference. They're much more balanced as the highs are slightly more pronounced(I thought they were a little recessed before) and there was a gap somewhere in the lower midrange that it filled in. Now they sound VERY good in my room.

Thanks, I can't wait

Does anyone have the Center/Bookshelf speakers? I have some Boston CR67s that I use for my surrounds and a Boston MicroCenter for my center and am wondering if I should upgrade to the E5Bi pair and E5Ci center.

Yeah I ordered the center today as well! Might hold off on the surrounds and other accessories i'll need for a week or two to try to spread the cost out some. Plus it will take us a couple weeks before we can paint the room anyway. October is a busy month for us.

Nice, I'm the same, I can't decide whether to get the surrounds and center yet (I haven't sold my old set yet but I will soon). My est delivery is actually now Friday, if the towers really blow me away I might just go for the center and surrounds

Yeah I went ahead and ordered separate just in case I did decide to return em since EMP doesn't pay return shipping. I didn't wanna have to pay for return shipping on anymore boxes than I absolutely had to.

Just returned take classic 5.0 and got 5 EF30C for $200 ($50 more). I say that's a good trade off. What's a good and cheap wall mount for these? I doubt the ones on monoprice can hold 17 pounds.

anyone have more reviews on the e5ti's? the quality you get for the price seems almost too good to be true..

Well you should be thinking of them as $750 speakers, not $400.
I just pulled the trigger on the EF30C special on the emptek website: 5 for $200 shipped. Not quite what I was looking for, but too good of a deal to pass up...

Not really because they are really $400 speakers that they may sell for $750 in the future

Don't let sales gimmicks fool you.

Saying all that, they do look nice and I would like to demo a pair to bad they are on back order now which reminds me of how AV123 runs their business....

1. Get excitement online saying speakers are almost 50% off
2. Post beautiful air brushed pictures of them
3. Get a whole bunch of sales online to generate cash flow.
4. Then build them (but say they are back ordered).
5. Pray like hell you do not have any manufacturer or distribution issues.

EMP website seems to say they're in stock. Are you looking at the audioholics store?

And I don't have an issue with that type of business model since I got em shipped immediately at a good price. I personally think they look as good in person as they do in the pics.

I really think once the audioholics review comes out with proper measurements and stuff we'll really get a feel for how much they're worth. You could end up being right and they're really 400 selling for 700+ later.

I was on the EMP site and the finish I wanted was back ordered.

Finally, a sensible post. I'm going to pass on these, at least until there's more non-biased reviews.

Im just curious to test how good they are.

Penngray,

If you're gonna give them away anyway, why not get the glossy black? Black goes with everything.

how do the Impressions compare to the Polk Audio 70s?

They are equally priced.

Thanks

I assume you're talking the polk monitor 70's? I've not heard the 70's but my buddy has the R50's hooked up to a crappy sony receiver in a completely different room from mine and I thought his 50's sound like crap compared to the EMP's. But that's not a good way to compare speakers at all.

Considering only about 5 ppl have even posted about their impression line experiences, I doubt you'll find anyone that's compared the 2 directly.

Probly your best option is to order the EMP's and make the compare yourself in your own house, or wait for a professional review.

I'm not an expert so I may be way wrong about this. I was under the impression that EMP was owned/operated by a higher end company. If this is true then looking at them as $400+ speakers would make sense. This is just a simple market penetrating strategy of pricing low to build a brand awareness and then being able to charge a higher price later on.

Either way my E5Ti speakers came this weekend and they are amazing (and they look the same as in the pictures). I ordered the E5Bi pair and the E5Ci yesterday to go with my new TV.

I have been looking at their new line up as well and the E5Ti looks awesome. Cosmetically I give it 11/10 but am I the only one concerned about them having 6 Ohms? Besides, they don't seem to be as efficient compared to Ascen CMT-340 or the Axiom M60.

6ohm really isn't a big deal with most receivers I don't think. My buddy ordered the center and is pushing it with a terrible sony receiver. But he's happy with it. So if his sony can do it I doubt many receivers couldn't handle these speakers.

I have a Marantz SR4001 and I don't think it can handle 6 Ohms. I would really like to get these nice speakers but not sure about my receiver though. I have been working on a spreadsheet with all the speakers under $2000 with efficiency over 90 dB, and I have left out all the ones that aren't 8 Ohms. This falls short on 2 out of 3 categories but I wouldn't know until I hear them for myself. I may order a pair and see if they would waive the shipping cost if I return them within their trial period.
