I don't think 6 ohm speakers are a problem for your Marantz sr4001. I read a review of the similar 80 watts/channel sr4500 and they tested it with 8ohm and 4ohm loads. The 4 ohm rating was 128 watts with 0.1% distortion. If it can handle 4 ohm loads, then 6 ohm loads wont be a problem.
I run four towers and a center with 6 ohm Jamo speakers with my HK 325 that is rated at 50 watts/channel at 8ohms and it drives the Jamo's easily.

I may call up Marantz just see what they have to say. Anyone know how long this promotion is going to run because I am waiting for next payday to order a set.

Yeah I'd lean that way as well, I don't think they'll have much trouble. IMO marantz makes a much better receiver than sony that my buddy uses. You might head into the receiver forum to see if anyone with your model has run 6ohm speakers on it.

I just realized that my receiver has pre out so I can add an amp too if needed. Btw, why make 6 Ohms speakers and not 8 Ohms? Is it cheaper to make or something?
Fyi... I just spoke with EMP and the Red Burl Towers and centers are on back-order until MID-NOVEMBER! They flew off the shelves and are gearing up for another mftg run. I ordered the Glossy Black fininsh towers and Center on Sat morn and was informed they shipped out yesterday. Looking forward to a lengthy listening session soon!
Where are all the lengthy in-depth reviews of the e5ti? Or has no one received them yet.
The price point looks cool, but without any real reviews I'm loathe to gamble.
I posted one back a couple pages but not many other people have said too much else even though I've seen 6-8 other people around here that have them setup.
Glad I got my center ordered last week and came in today, since i'm not using their surrounds my front 3 are set, just before the backorder.
EMP sent me 5 EF50Cs (or rather Destination audio CS500C with emp stickers on the box) instead of the EF30Cs I ordered. Should I hold on to them or return them for the 30cs?

What's the difference?
Just looked it up and the CS500C is a compact center and has dual 4" woofers and a 1" tweeter. The EF50C has dual 5.25" woofers and 1" tweeter. The specs on the EF50C are better all around. Better frequency response, better sensitivity, larger speaker.
I'll post some when I get home, my rears and center were delivered today (E5Ti, E5Bi, and E5Ci are the ones I now have in total). We're re-carpeting the house so my setup downstairs is quite.. ghetto. Will post in a few hours
I have 2 pairs of the burl red E5Tis and a center channel. They look fantastic, and sound great. I'm not a professional reviewer, but a few friends have come over and given them their blessings as a very good sounding speaker. If anyone in Houston wants to stop by and test them out, PM me. They are a great deal.
I've only used the towers so far. I just hooked up the rest last night before bed, this weekend I should put them to work
Let us know. I just ordered the black finish. I have 15 year old Klipsch bookshelves in the basement tv/game room and the price was just too good to pass up. My son uses the room with his buddies and it seemed like an inexpensive upgrade. The speakers look great in all the pictures.

Thanks, I'll post some impressions over the weekend. I plan on watching some episodes of LOST to help break in my Kuro since their ratio takes up the entire screen. I'll probably throw in some Iron Man or something to test out the sound system too

Just got the EMP Impression 5.1 Tower System and maybe I'm just dumb, but how do I connect the subwoofer to my Denon 3310CI? Should I use a "Y" cable coming from the mono SW Pre Out RCA jack on the Denon? Can I just use 1 RCA cable and connected it tot he left input on the sub?
You can use a single cable inserted into the left input or get a small Y cable. Both will work. You'll get s 3db louder signal using the Y cable. You can get the small Y cable from Radio shack. The subwoofer cable plugs directly into it. You should be able to walk into the store and get the Y cable for under $5 easily. http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2103861
The "Auto" switch enables the sub to turn itself on when a low frequency signal is being sent to it. So when your receiver is powered on the sub will automatically turn itself on. When you power down the receiver the sub will stay on for a minute or so and then power itself off. Its a good feature.
I'm using these speakers on hard wood floors (large, uneven, pine planks) and the sub (EMP ES10i) tends to make a lot noise vibrating against the wood, any suggestions on aesthetic ways to fix this?
