Brian from EMP Tek said they plan to have all the black Friday orders shipped out by the end of the week. He said it takes a while because each speaker goes through quality control before leaving the warehouse.

Well bummer. I thought that too. Oh well though....Gives me more time to put together my DIY cables and figure out if I like my Roku 2 XS or if I want to go with AppleTV/WDlive.


Randall.White - What Outlaw sub do you have? I thought about picking up the LFM-1 EX when it comes time to pick one up. Seems like the performance for the price is the best out there (besides all DIY of course). I've got about 3400 cuft and it's open so I don't think the es1010i will do it lol. Can't be worse than my PA-120 though...ugh.

To the people that already have the EMP bookshelves (specifically the e5bi), what wall mounts are you using? Is that thing in the middle of the e5bi something for mounting?

I had the PA-120 & now I have the LFM-1 Plus. It's located in a 3000 cu ft. room that opens up to the kitchen. There is a difference between the two subs. The Outlaw has more output & digs deeper. The biggest difference I noticed was that Outlaw was tighter. It sounded more accurate than the PA did. However, the PA is not a bad sub at all. The difference in output between the two is noticeable, but not drastic. If your room is like mine, it would probably benefit from two subs. Next year I will be eyeing another one, but for now I am happy with the one Outlaw.

Doesn't the LFM-1 EX have about a 6db's on the Plus? The SPL was okay I guess from the PA-120, but being tuned at around 40hz made it horribly boomy around there. Sounded like a crappy car sub system. I've given some serious thought to doing a DIY setup with either 2 12" or 13" w6's OR a couple 12" IDmax's sealed. I've built multiple ported enclosures and my sealed enclosure I use now for my car, but I'd like to have a piano black looking sub or at least a nice black veneer on it so I don't know if I could pull off the end of the DIY in that regard

That was the same issue I had with the PA. Especially near a wall! The EX is supposed to put out a little more. I think the larger box does allow for that. However, I read that it was miss tuned a bit due to the larger box, so I opted for the plus. I planned on getting another one down the road eventually, so I knew two pluses would be plenttly to pressurize my room. Just going to wait until they go on sale again. Can only justify so much to the wife, who does not enjoy this hobby nearly as much as I do. biggrin.gif

Yeah you got me beat. I ordered a few days after BF. Makes sense that way so cant complain. Make sure you post up some pics and a beginning review. It'll be interesting to see if peoples opinions change, if they love the speakers more and more each day, etc.

I hope so too! I was hoping to have them to play around with this weekend, but what can ya do. My total shipping weight will be 150lb +. Got the e55's, e56 & e5b's.

So I'm looking for a power center/surge protector/etc just a for a little added piece of mind and that cool looking factor. I hate how the strips just look ugly laying on the ground and take up space. I was looking at the Ethereal ESP601R at A4L b/c it's cheap, has 8 outlets and has cool voltage displays. Not that I care that much, but I like the look and it's not much more than nice strips. Anyone have this or heard about it....or have any suggestions?

Also, does anyone know what YPAO's target curve for their tune? I like the JBL curve that I use in my car (JBL ms-8) so I'm hoping it's somewhat close. The JBL curve is

20-60/70hz: gradual +9db
60/70- 2/3kHz: flat
2/3kHz - 20kHz: gradual -6db roll off

^ Nice sub! Those PSA's look very nice. Hopefully the E55's will be okay-ish for awhile while I pay off some things...then I can get a sub lol. New house so had to get all kinds of stuff for it. Hopefully my bonus this year will be good too!! That'll help!

Thats the sub I just got. The LFM-1EX. Your room size is close to the same size as mine. At first I was like this cost me how much money? Then I plugged in my 2 other subs, both BIC PL-200. They were just really boomy sounding compared to the Outlaw where you can actually feel it. I really like bass, so I hooked up 1 PL-200 with the outlaw and the boomy sound just became annoying to me. Only negative thing I can say is the size but luckily my lady doesn't mind it.
