Got my tracking number yesterday. Scheduled delivery......Saturday. Did I make plans to be out of town Saturday, well of course I did... mad.gif

Is a signature required?
I think I remember seeing that signature wasn't required. Not sure the details of the people talking about it (apartment, house, etc).

I wish I could get mine soon! I thought they'd be doing their checks for the week and a half or so after BF and sending them out asap on Monday. Looks like I might be SOL and waiting for next week frown.gif
post #963 of 3154
Neither of my EMPtek deliveries required signatures (Fed Ex ground, I think)...but if you guys want to have them sent to my house, i would be happy to break them in for a couple years or so...smile.gif
post #964 of 3154
Starting to think they might have sent mine to you anyways lol biggrin.gif

I wonder if they got more orders than anticipated and that set them back further than they wanted

Hahah that's worse than waiting to see if they're at home when you get there

Me too!! Finally.

How are you all seeing when it will arrive though? Mine doesn't have an estimated delivery.....I hope that doesn't mean it won't be Saturday redface.gif
post #968 of 3154
It usually takes a little time for them to update that. Mine are supposed to arrive Saturday.
My ETA hasn't updated yet either, but I'll be sure to throw a bunch of pics up on Flickr and put a link here. I'm getting the towers, big center, and bookshelves (black).

Everyone likes speaker pr0n.

(edit: ETA for mine is Saturday)

Post pics. Always like seeing more. Really wish someone in WA has these. So I could hear them for myself.
I'll let you know after I get 'em when I might have some free time.

Got my tracking number as well. Not sure if this was a coinky-dink but I happen to call EMP to see where my shipment status was, then voila I got my magic FEDEX track #. ETA is 18 Dec. Looks like the rate limiting step to fulfilling our orders was reconfiguring the center channel speakers and fixing it (there was an issue with a wrong value component installed...what they said, I'm just the messenger). My order:

E55ti Tower
E56Ci center
E55Wi surround (2pairs)
ES 1010i Sub

Also, it does not say in the product description but included in the E55Wi are wall mount brackets so i had to quickly cancel an amazon order for speaker wall mounts. Just FYI for those who are considering buying brackets so this should save you some money. Brian advised us to use sturdy dry wall hardware to mount the surrounds.

Anyone else doing 7.1 with all E55Wi surrounds? Not sure if this was overkill and maybe could have gone with a pair of E55Wi on sides and pair of E5Bs for rear but I couldn't pass up the incredible BF deal on these surround speakers so I went all 4. smile.gif

Will do. I'll have pics and initial review after a day or so. Then I'll review them again a few weeks after that. Might just get an RTA to really dial them in since my 663's YPAO isn't the best I hear. Solid amp section though!

Oh oh...I did!! I did!! Found a few very nice stands that fit the large center channel too! Can't wait to get it, my speakers and a 65"+ on it. My 50a550 has served me well, but it's time to get bedroom duty

What is everyone planning on using for brackets for the bookshelves?
A couple stands? lol. I wanna see this.
Yeah I didn't word that correctly lol. Was being rushed out of the office to go down to the rig

I meant found a few nice tv stands that fit the large, 31" wide center.

Yep, I am moving in a few months and will probably move from 2.1 to 5.1 next year.

The speakers come double boxed, with reinforced corners, molded soft foam, and double bagged. They are absolutely beautiful!!! The pictures do not do these speakers justice. I am in the process of adding the feet to the second tower and then will get them positioned and try them out! cool.gif I will post some pictures in a little while, along with my initial review, stay tuned.

I should also note these things make my 42" plasma look small... rolleyes.gif
post #983 of 3154
Here are a couple shots after I took it out and put the feet on:

I will take some more once I get them in place!
They are gorgeous speakers for the price. Enjoy!
And they sound as good as they look!
Got them set up and listening to led zeppelin at the moment. I am thoroughly enjoying them! Fantastic imaging, such an improvement over my old infinitys.

DSOTM is a solid album. Not sure what some of you listen to, but my speakers will get a VERY eclectic workout when they get here..

Alice in Chains - Alice in Chains (MTV Unplugged)
DSOTM
Christina Aguilera's new album + some others
Adele
Infected Mushroom

...and the list goes on lol

Played the train crash scene from Super 8, I was able to hear a lot more detail, and it sounded fantastic.

I started with stairway to heaven, I swear Robert plant was standing in front of me! I like marooned and the great gig in the sky to test speakers, and classical gas by mason Williams is great for acoustic guitar.
