Does anyone here uses nVidia cards on their HTPC?

It seems to me that no one is using nVidia because everyone is talking about Powerstrip.

I tried but PS does not work with newer (mine included) cards from nVidia.

Odd... this is a copy/paste from my post on 1/9

I use Nvidia, Geforce 7950gt and PS works fine for me. I have heard it also works with 9 series cards

Yes, the 9800GT does appear to work with PowerStrip, I just installed one in my HTPC.

Yeah, I heard that the 7 series was the last PS worked on.

but does it really work on 9 series. I saw many posts in PS's forums that PS does not support anything newer than 7.

Mike,
What do you mean by "appear to work"???

With my 8600GTS PS does load, it does start without any errors. BUt when I modify the porches or do any changes like change refresh rate... nothing happens.

Can you confirm that PS is actually able to make changes on your HTPC's card?

Do those changes "stick". I mean do the changes remain after a reboot?

My G70 can work at 1920X1080P@60
great picture! Amazing.
G70 Fans. Just try it.
trust me you would love it.
Do not try 1920X1080P@48. it is very bad and flicker.

I am posting in here after a very long time.
1080p on a G70 works but is not fully resolved. Try 1080i @ 72 with reduced porches [like the people in your other thread suggest]

BTW...I still have my G70. It still works. I shoot 720p @ 60Hz from a HTPC. Have tried everything else... but only this one was stable.

Hi,

I'm going the HTPC route because of 3D.

I will be getting the Asrock 3D Vision. In order to watch BR 3D I need to change resolution to 720p/120hz.

May I know which software should I get to do that?

Is it POWERSTRIP, I use to se a friend using Theatretek during the DVD time.

Any help appreciate.

FYI my PJ Sony G70 with moome V2. Card.

Cheers

720p/120hz !!

That is not going to happen on a G70. I dont think it can sync up with 120Hz remember....these things are old!

BTW powerstrip is like a dinosaur now. It does not work on nVidia. And nVidia and AMD both have very nice utilities.
