I have a 500m, couple of days ago I posted, for a few hundred bucks I wish I had gotten the 111.

...and I stand by that, if the difference between a 500m and 111 is $300-400, I would get the 111 every day of the week and twice on sunday.

Maybe, Maybe not. My panny 80u right now is calibrated at 34fl and I am happy with that. My viewing area is a cave (basement). So this is no concern for me. Comparing the price between Vans and Best Buy I am looking at an extra $500 after tax for the 111fd

When I bought my 500m the price difference between it and 111 was $1k everywhere I looked, but now I see bestbuy discounting the 111 to the point where the difference is 400, that would be a no-brainer for me just for the ISFccc, but then add to that the extra flexibility you get with the 111, that you might never use, but then again, it might come in handy down the road if you move it to another room. The 111 gives you 4 hdmi's, USB input, HMG, side mounted inputs, speakers and stand. Also consider this, if you get a TV from bestbuy (and I hate this place for many reasons) they will exchange it for you if you feel the need, not true with mail-order.

like So so said, if it is really a $400 difference, sure, how can you not? but keep in mind that best buy do charge tax, and once that tax is tacked on, for me, it would have been $560 more at that time, and last time I checked, you can get a Oppo blu ray with that price difference, so I don't know......

and if it is really just a $400 difference between 600m and a 151, then yes, I would start to consider just a tiny bit, but we all know we are a long way off as far as pricing goes for the 60" models.

How much would a stand or wall mount cost for this set? I don't need anything great, just something that works.

For the 500M:
Wall mount usually costs less than $100: http://www.amazon.com/Peerless-ST660...1627350&sr=8-1

Stand are more expansive, around $150+: http://www.applied-computer.com/Inve...&Acpn=40011393

Maybe someone can help me out. I own a 600m. I also have a ps3 and recently picked up a panasonic bd60 for comparison. Ive noticed with this set that im getting an unsmooth picture, I guess you can call it judder. In the ps3 i set the 24p to on. Same with the bd60. Then on the tv I turned the film mode to advanced but ive also tried all the other settings to no help. Maybe some judder is just not able to be resolved and maybe im just more sensitive to the issue than others. Games and other sources play fine just movies are the problem. What do you all think?

There's been a couple of threads on this, just do a search and they should pop up. The consensus seemed to be that 24 fps isn't all it was cracked up to be and had some significant problems.

so should i just turn everything off in the set and player?

I look forward to all views. I have read a portion of this thread in the last 3 weeks or so.
Thanks for all the info

I have an appointment to have my monitor calibrated.... I have come this far....

Try this thread out for a relatively current discussion of 24fps and resulting visual perception issues. It's been a very entertaining thread which has managed to stay remarkably on topic with no rants about one particular technology being better than another ...

The 600M's were pushed back for release until this Friday or Monday the 11th. They are waiting for the table top stands to come in before they start shipping the screens. Premire Mounts had to build extra stands for them because of the massive back order. I will post more info when I get it.

I have 2 freaking huge windows where my 600m is which are half blocked by shades. the tops are half eyebrows so they aren't covered. there are also 2 square windows which sit high on the wall which the tv is and nothing covers them. there is lots of natural light coming into the room on a daily basis nothing that hits the tv direct.

I have no problem watching tv in the morning when I am in the kitchen before work or during the day if home and have the tv on. I watched batman around 5 the other night cause i was bored and it was still daylight and the shades were up and was happy.

I just received the VFL wall mount for my 500M. However I am a bit worried now after seeing how much heat the back of the set puts off during the break in process. The mount holds the TV off the wall 3/4ths of an inch. I dont know if this is going to be enough for ventilation.

Is the TV any cooler during normal usage then it is during break in? Has anyone tried a mount that is this close to the wall?

why in the world would pioneer hold up shipment on their panels to accomodate the stands? one of the main reasons people purchase a krp is because they dont need the stand, or the speakers, or the tuner.

id like to see what happens next to push into the next week. this is ubearable.

Picked up an OEM stand for the 500M at Value Electronics (see their home page). Was going to leave the 500 in bottom of carton until I finished building a recess to flush mount the panel but for the price, I couldn't resist buying a stand instead to use for a few weeks.

Well to answer my own question a bit I just looked on Pioneers site at the wall mount they recommend for the 500m the KRP-WM02 and according to the specs its got a depth of 7/8ths of an inch.

So if the official mount is 7/8ths of an inch then 3/4ths of an inch should not really be a problem.

The retailer I bought from was offering either a stand or a wall mount for free. I took the stand, even though I am planning on wall mounting, because it was the official pioneer stand and retailed for 150+ and the wall mount they were offering was just about $50 dollars. Bought the wall mount seperately on amazon.

So do I take this to mean stands are included with a 600m now?

Thanks.

i could see that as part of preventing any breaking during transport but i dont think pioneer would give anything away like that. this still makes absolutely no sense to me at all.

BTW, the 9UK has not been professionally calibrated but has been set up according to DVE. Thanks in advance!

I have Panasonic 80u and it can do about 32-34fl before it starts to clip.

When I look (on-line) I see a 2.5k delta. I understand that there can be variability and flexibility but 2k seems like a lot of flex for a BB.

You got nothing to lose seeing as how you already have them and can try them out.
But I don't think that 9 watts of power and those speakers are going to work very well together.

BB's 111fd prices have been bouncing like a superball, you just have to catch it on the downstroke. I've seen a better than 2k swing in price from 1 day to the next and then back again. they raise it all the way to full MSRP to more than 2k below MSRP.

Well that's a chimera I wouldn't chase but fortunately for me I have a "local" vendor that has reasonable pricing and my 500M will be delivered on Monday.

...especially if you tilt the 600M down, as I plan to do. Dang the wait. Tom Petty was right. "The waaaaaiting is the hardest part."

Finally put in my order for a 500m with Value Electronics. Thanks to those who contributed on this thread. It definitely influenced my decision.

This is going to be mounted in my bedroom since I already have a 141FD for my living room. I'll get some pics when I receive the set next week.

Does anyone have any science that motivates varying the color and intensity of the Evangelo "break-in" images? It seems the net effect is the same as running various grays for half the total slide-show period.
Monday the 11th is the confirmed date of shipping. There is a slight chance of shipping tomorrow, but I give it about 5%. Two weeks after this shipment the next batch will ship. So if the first batch sells out, a new one will be right on the way.
