I won't be set up for actual viewing until later in the week (not sure when my receiver is arriving). But I'll probably just leave it running some break-in images for a several days. I've heard different things about the effectiveness of a break-in period, but I suppose it doesn't hurt...

Congratulation, Roberto. Please post owner's review and pictures. Thanks.

If it does not have the purple coating then I am going to be very happy. So when did these come out? Why are we waiting so long to purchase them or wait for someone to have them. Were we just not aware that these were available? These sets sound like everything I ever wanted. No stand, no filter, no speakers, no tuner, thin and a pioneer.... And freakn pure mode....

Well, they were priced the same as the Elite/Signature but without the ISFccc mode, less AV inputs, only 1 year of "Commercial" warranty. No idea what's the difference between "commercial" vs "consumer" warranty. Therefore, no one was interested in them. But now, it is a totally different ballgame.

As far as I can tell, they just hit the North American market in the past 2-3 weeks. Amazon has had a 600M listed for longer, but it was (and still is) priced at $6500. When I started calling authorized resellers, some of them weren't even aware of the KRP's until they checked with their distributor. So it's hard to say when these models came out in the U.S., but their availability at THESE prices is clearly a very recent development.

All I need is a power cord and one HDMI. Have ISFccc on my 111 and not a huge deal. All I care to have is pure mode and performance mode and I am fine with that. More so if it doesn't have the purple glaze on the screen.

Yeah amazon is ridiculous on the price of these. Can't wait till you guys get these. Do you have another pioneer in the house as a reference set to compare to>? Please take lots of pics of the box and opening of the box. Dying to know how these are packaged without a stand. What mount did you get or have for it?

It might mean just no in home service. But it still would be a valid warranty for home use, just that you maybe would have to bring it to a place for service during the warranty if something happens and you were to need it serviced.

I have a 5020 and I will have a 500M next week. My friend has a 151, so I know what the coating looks like. We will have a difinitive answer soon.

I can also have a look at the speaker mounting options...

I purchased the Peerless PFT660 Universal Tilt Mount for the 5020, the 500M is going on my exisitng Premier Mounts AM3-B.

I think Pioneer would have a hard time arguing that the warranty is any different that the xx20's. It is a monitor but not a commercial monitor.

There is absolutely no info on the US site. I see no indication of this type of warranty on the EU site. Personally, If I were an Elite dealer, I would feel a bit threatened by this monitor

The quantities seem to be very low, lower than any other model. Anyone interested should act soon!

I will be wall mounting my set and am looking at the Omnimount and Sanus articulating mounts. The Omnimounts seem quite popular but I have read some negative comments from installers about these being difficult to install and sagging -- although these comments are from a while back and it is not entirely clear to me if they apply to the current UCL-X model. Peerless is possible too, but may be more expense without any clear benefit.

Any input on what others think would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you a bunch. If any of you new owners could take pictures, that would be greatly appreciated as well.

I have a commercial Pioneer Plasma monitor and their commercial warranty included in-house service unless they have changed their policy for the last 4 years.

There doesn't seem to be many online retailers for the M series. I know Monitor Outlet sells the 500 but I'm not sure who else does.

It's just a matter of calling around to see who has them in stock. I would check with Pioneer authorized resellers and the forum sponsors (listed at the top of the main forum page ).

It's scheduled to be here between 11:30 and 2:30 MST today. Unfortunately, I won't be able to mount it and really start using it until the beginning of next week Still waiting on my wall mount and receiver...

But I'll take some unboxing pictures and play around with the menus/web interface. It seems like the biggest questions people have are: (1) ISFxxx calibration (which we've been told is absent) and (2) anti-reflective coating. I *should* be able to answer those today.

KRP-M's are using totally same filter as Elite.

SigElite panel is hand-picked at factory, and uses duly selected glass.

(Elite is specifically uses the best performance glass for all of aspect of
picture quality with factory certification/signature)

It is nice to have a these units in large supply, unlike the 5020's. The 6020's are still in great supply and the 5020's are here and there. If you have not seen these KRP units then you are missing out. One word, AMAZING.
As for the ISF Calibration being turned off on this unit. I have the code to turn the feature back on.

Holy cow. Are you serious? That's awesome news. Do I have to buy it from you to get it turn on?

It's heeeerrrre! (Sorry for the weak Poltergeist reference )

So the 600M just arrived. The shippers only sent one guy. He didn't understand why they didn't send two given the size of the box. No problem; I helped him move it into my house.

When I bought a 6020 from Buy.com a few weeks ago, the same shipper sent two guys who stuck around to put the panel on its stand. Good thing too because after building the stand, we noticed that the screen was completely shattered. So they were able to take it back with them. And I was able to cancel the order and get a 600M

This time, I had to sign the shipping receipt BEFORE opening the box. There was a 3" hole in the box that made me nervous (which I noted on the receipt before signing). The trucker DID stay while I removed the outer box and the panel was in pristine condition -- hurray!

Like I said previously, I won't be able to mount it for another week. Of course, I want to plug it in and make sure it works, so I guess I'll just have to leave it in the styrofoam/cardboard base while I run it.

I'm going to give it a few hours to warm up to room temperature. Then I'll fire it up. But I'll post some pictures shortly and am open to any questions about the physical appearance of the panel.

I have just received the 500M.
It is amazingly thin. Very nice.
Has the Elite anti-glare.

Using a tape measure the holes for the speakers in the sides appear in the same position but the depths is less. So using the same brackets, you would have to use some standoffs and longer bolts to attach then and remain flush.

There is no center binding post so a 5020 speaker could attach at the sides only, also requiring a trip to the hardware store. I have not plugged it in, that will be tomorrow.

I cannot find 5020 or 111 speakers on Ebay, I am hunting for a pair.

+1 on that Holy Cow statement.

As has been stated previously, the warranty IS for one year (unlike the Elites). But I noticed that it says the warranty is only valid if you purchase from an authorized DISTRIBUTOR. I know there has been confusion about whether you have to buy from one of the authorized resellers listed on Pioneer's website. But RESELLERS and DISTRIBUTORS are different things.

To me, this sounds like you can buy from ANY reseller as long as they get the product from an authorized DISTRIBUTOR. I assume that all legitimate resellers (i.e. the forum sponsors) deal with an authorized distributor. In my case, the distributor was a company called "Electrograph". I suspect many resellers order product from the same distributor.

Anyway, sorry if this has been hashed out previously, but it was still a point of confusion for me until I actually read the warranty.

Contact Robert at Value Electronics. He has mentioned before he has some Elite speakers around because of all those glass shattered Elites. He's a forum sponsor.

Hey Rich -- glad you got your set. I'm very impressed with the look of it -- very elegant. The only thing I can currently see on the bezel is the "Pioneer" logo at the bottom. But it's actually "behind" the surface of the bezel. Is that how it is on the other Kuros? I can't tell from the photos on the web. Anyway, very cool.

I noticed the "purple" anti-reflective coating too. I'm still a little unclear on the difference between the Elite and non-Elite coating/filter. How do you know it's the "Elite anti-glare"?

Thanks!

Well that certainly is something that could help to convince a lot of people to go for one of these sets.

I am eyeballing it. It is less reflective than the 5020.
The bezel logo is a big improvement.

Also, no mention of ISF in the manual.
