The bezel logo is a big improvement.

Also, no mention of ISF in the manual.

Can you check Page 70 on the manual? Thanks.

There ARE references to ISF in the web interface section. Check the screen shots on pages 69-72. But there's no specific discussion of how to use it. But Alex's comment is pretty exciting. I've said before that ISF wasn't a big deal for me, but anything that makes a great monitor even greater is good in my book

I've posted a MobileMe gallery with some pictures of the 600M being unpacked. Nothing too exciting. It definitely looks more impressive in person

Are you kidding me? NOT Exciting? I always thought it was just a myth of the existence of the 500M/600M.

BTW, the Pioneer logo is actually very cool. Does it light up or something when power on or it is just recessed in silver color?

Yeah, like elves, gremlins, and eskimos

I don't have another Kuro to compare to, but I think the logo is really nice. I like the subtlety and depth of it. I haven't turned the set on yet, but I seriously doubt it lights up. That's more of a Samsung thing to do. I kid (I also own a Samsung dlp).

Roberto,

Nice to see what an un-cracked screen looks like! My 600M also arrived today, except this is how it looked.....

Not sure when the replacement is due...my wife is not happy at all....

Ouch! I feel sorry for you and your wife. However, please post how the exchange process go. Thanks. I am still paranoid of buying a giant plasma tv online.

I stand corrected. ISF is in the Web interface on Page 70 of the manual.

Man, that really sucks! I bought mine from the same place, which means I will most likely be getting mine from the same carrier. I hope I dont have the same thing happen. Mine is coming tomorrow afternoon 2-6PM EST. I really dont want the hassles of exchanging. This is definitely the big downside of not going local, but hey, you cant get the right pricing locally either, so what do you do ya know?????

Don't worry too much. I have a feeling it was the local carrier (from the city to my door) that broke it, not the national one....

I hear ya - its a pain in the a**, but for the price....worth it. The worst part is that I saw the unit and it is very nice, so it makes it tougher to wait this time!

The exchange process depends on how you handle the issue on your end. Always refuse the delivery if the screen is damaged. That makes it alot easier on both ends, you don't have a damaged screen lying around your house and a replacement is sent out twice as fast.

Oh, man! That IS painful. My 6020 had a dense spiderweb of cracks covering the ENTIRE screen. Somebody must have dropped it really hard.

But if the shipper took the broken set with them, your replacement should go out immediately. Hopefully, you'll get it in a week or so. By then, we'll have all the settings worked out for you

I have a 600m on order, should ship Friday13th. I am know in desperate search for a stand with mount (wall mount not possible) that this model will work with. I am considering the Bello FP-2225 and the Sanus FPPF2, but I can't seem to verify if either mount is compatible with this tv. I have heard that Pioneer will not use a standard mount. Is anyone using either of these or can recommend possible compatible stands w/mount.

Thanks,
Barry

Congratulations Roberto. You're pictures are very exciting. I cant wait to get mine and am eager for more details about yours in the meantime.

blb1215, I was originally looking for a tabletop stand, too. The only ones I am aware of are the Pioneer KRP-TS01 which doesn't some to be in stock anywhere and my dealer also mentioned a Premier mount (sorry, I don't know the model number).

Roberto, you lucky dog.
Seems like that AR is present. Man that is thin. Dying to know about the buzzing and screen uniformity. So you are plugging that bad boy in tonight and mounting it?

I have it plugged in now and am trying to figure out the web control system (so I can check on ISF). I have an ethernet crossover cable between my Macbook Pro and the Kuro. I have the Kuro's IP address and am trying to get my web browser to access it, but haven't had any luck yet. If anyone has done this on a Mac before, let me know if you have any tips.

I do hear a buzz but only if I'm quite close to the screen. At about 3 feet away, I don't hear anything. I'll have to test it again later tonight when the kids are in bed. Of course, that's just with the menu screen showing, not actual content. Not sure if the volume of the buzz is dependent on the percentage of the pixels being used.

I won't be mounting it for another week or so. In the meantime, I'll run a break-in DVD.

Are you running it out of the box?

Yeah he left it in the bottom of the box that it comes in. About the web interface, try the 141/151 thread. Read about it in there.... I wish it supports macbooks as that is what I have.

Good to hear about the buzzing/fan noise. If you have to put your ear up to it to hear it then thats ok by me.

Yeah, I cut back the two styrofoam supports on the bottom (so I could expose the IR receiver). But it's still resting on the styrofoam on the bottom. I arranged things so I can't fall forward or backwards. Not the ideal setup obviously, but I don't have a wall mount yet and I had to test it to make sure it actually works. Plus, I wanted to start the break-in now rather than waiting until it's mounted.

There IS a buzz and it's louder on an all white screen. But I'm not sure that I'll be able to hear it from my seating position. It doesn't strike me as particularly loud at this point. I'll have to give it a listen when the house is totally silent. I don't know if elevation plays a factor, but I'm at 4600 feet above sea level.

I haven't heard the fan yet, but I just started running the break-in dvd.

What do you mean? Is it possible to calibrate this plasma without controlCal?!!

I have read that elevation makes buzzing louder. Read it somewhere on AVS. Don't have the link to it. The buzzing I have on my kuros can all be heard if you put your ear up to the tv but form my seating distance it woul be impossible. There is no such thing as black sound. Either the rifrigerator kicks in or the DVR fans or the barking dogs or the xbox disk drive. As long as those things are louder than the tv then I am fine with it. On an all white screen it does get rather loud with my ear up to the glass.

We will have to wait and see.

The Standard AV Selections including Pure can be calibrated with the Owner's Remote (this is the same with the Elites). Though they don't have the benefits of the ISFccc Interface (ControlCAL required), they will calibrate well.

I will probably release a ControlCAL Profile for the Standard AV Selections.

ISF or no ISF, getting confused!

Finally got web control up and running. It contained an ISF link which I promptly clicked. Then it showed me this screen:

I tried a few passwords just for the heck of it. The web page says "Wrong password!" and the 600M flashes a message saying "ISF function is not available in this model".

If someone (with the initials AI ) wants to share the password with me, I'll be happy to investigate further...

This thread is more on the edge of my seat than a rollercoaster. What were the steps you used for your Macbook to 600m? Let's hope you get a password and well you know......

I think "Performance" is re-labeled as "Standard" mode on the KRP's.
