I just bought this set at Target for $708 and added a 3 yr. warranty for $59.

2 things:

1) Does anyone have what they consider "optimal" display settings?

2) Looking for feedback on the set. Goods and Bads.

we got ours end of December and just found this. after adjusting to Food network/TNT/HBO/NatGeo/AnimalPlanet... all in HD on cable... we came to this as our settings. try it and play... let us know what you come up with? can't seem to find any reviews on it with 'optimal' settings.

contrast 90
brightness 50
color 50
tint 0
sharpness 6
color temp = normal
dynamic contrast = off
DNR= on
color enhancement = on
picture format = wide
horizontal = 34
vertical = 14

these numbers seem weird, but it's what looks best to us.

I just stole an open box at Sam's club today. Set it up in the bedroom. My settings are lower in contrast 50 and sharpness 4. Left the horizontal and vertical at 32 and 16. I have no idea what those controls do. Great PQ with OTA in high def. Will have to pop in an HD DVD and see how it does on that.
